After their popular series Real Housewives, Bravo has now introduced a new concept with its upcoming series Real Girlfriends In Paris. The series follows six girls from America set on a quest to find love in the world’s fashion capital. As the girls navigate the city, they tackle their own struggles & pursue their ambitions.
Is Bravo’s Real Girlfriends In Paris Similar To Emily In Paris?
The show has some similarities with another TV series Emily In Paris. When asked about these similarities, a cast member, Victoria Zito (fashion designer) mentioned, “Real Girlfriends In Paris is a more authentic portrayal of the life of an American woman in Paris, especially because of Bravo’s documentary-style approach.”
Apart from Victoria, the show’s cast includes:
- Adja Toure (A graduate of Cornell)
- Emily Gorelik (Luxury design management student)
- Kacey Margo (English teacher)
- Anya Firestone (Culture and art theorist)
- Margaux Lignel (American School of Paris alumna)
Real Girlfriends In Paris’ Margaux Lignel Has Her Roots In Paris
For Margaux, her unique story makes her the perfect choice for the show. She is an American with French parents. After being raised in Paris and New York, Margaux attended the American School in Paris, FIT & the Conde Nast College of Fashion & Design. Through the years, she has successfully forged a foundation in fashion to propel her into her future.
She also teased that fans can see her experience several hurdles regarding financial independence. As per Meaww, Margaux even noted that she is proud of her journey and where she is at today.
Similarly, Victoria moved to Paris in 2017. Born & raised in Texas, she got her first passport & then moved to Paris to build her life & pursue a career in fashion. Talking about her journey, she said that she has been through a lot to get where she is today in life. Currently, she is the head designer at a nascent fashion brand Chloe Collette.
Bravo’s New Reality Series Is About More Just Finding Love
For Emily, being a part of the show has been a chance to showcase her struggles. Talking about it, she said, “It’s more than just dating around and being serenaded. It’s actually trying to build a life here. We’re not just on vacation. We’re Americans who chose Paris, who chose to live here, who are actively trying to build and assimilate into the country.”
Anya is an art historian with license by the French government to give tours of cultural and historical venues in Paris. She also said that it was “exciting to be given that platform to open people’s minds to art & culture. I am so passionate about French culture. It’s like I was born French in another life. To be able to be given a platform to express myself as an art theorist…we haven’t seen an art philosopher on Bravo before.
“A philosopher can be quirky, drink champagne, go out with her girlfriends, and defy a stereotype. I’m proud of who I am. I’m not what people might think immediately when they look at us,” she continued.
For fans looking forward to this new series, it is slated to premiere on September 5, 2022, at 9:15 p.m. on Bravo. Are you looking forward to the premiere of Real Girlfriends In Paris? Share your thoughts in the comments!
