Here is what you need to know about Emma and Bruce Willis and their recent struggles.
Emma Heming Willis speaks out on coping with grief
Emma Heming Willis posted a montage on Instagram. The message dealt with learning to live with grief. The 44-year-old model/actress is married to Bruce Willis, who received the diagnosis that he has aphasia. Unfortunately, it has caused him to quit acting. Willis had an amazing career that started with television roles on the sitcom Moonlighting before he became a massive worldwide star thanks to the Die Hard franchise.
In the post, Emma Heming Willis showed herself in various activities, from shadow boxing and tennis to biking, yardwork, and arts and crafts projects. More so, this was how she showed she dealt with grief, and it was through self-discovery.
“This was the summer of self discovery—finding new hobbies, going out of my comfort zone and staying active,” Emma wrote in the caption. “My grief can be paralyzing but I’m learning how to live along side it. As my step-daughter @scoutlaruewillis told me, grief is the deepest and purest form of love. I hope you find some comfort in that too.”
Additionally, Emma married Bruce in 2009. They have two daughters plus she is also the stepmother to Willis’s three kids from his previous marriage to Demi Moore, including actress Rumer Willis.
What is wrong with Bruce Willis?
Bruce Willis has seemed to slip into a career of working in small-budget action and sci-fi movies in recent years. Fans wondered what happened to the once blockbuster star. Sadly, word leaked out that he didn’t know his lines from movies. These smaller releases only had him on set for a couple of days for a multi-million dollar payout.
Finally, in March, the news broke that Willis has the neurodegenerative disease aphasia. After making 22 movies over the last four years, and setting his family up financially for the rest of their lives, he finally retired from acting to work on his own health. Moreover, the cognitive disorder affects a person’s ability to communicate and often develops in individuals who have suffered strokes.
The good news is that Willis has a large family who cares about him. On top of his wife Emma Heming Willis and their kids, his ex-wife Demi Moore has stepped up with their children, and everyone is taking a role in helping Bruce through this difficult time. When the news broke, it was through an Instagram post that was signed by Emma, Demi, Rumer, Scout, Tallulah, Mabel, and Evelyn.
