Mama June Misses Alana’s 17th Birthday, Apology Accepted?
Mama June Shannon missed a big day in her daughter’s life- again. Her youngest child, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson turned seventeen on August 28th. Yet her mother was a no-show to her family gathering which included her longtime boyfriend, Dralin Carswell. So, what did June have to say for herself? Read on for all of the details.
Mama June Is A No-Show At Alana’s Seventeenth Birthday Gathering
Everyone was there to celebrate the birth of the one and only Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson. To be fair, without her cute and precocious nature, the family would not have the success that they do. Her charm on Toddlers and Tiaras launched Here Comes Honey Boo Boo and helped make them a household name. It then led to June getting her own variation of Mama June: From Not to Hot. It has since centered around her struggles with her daughters. Things clearly were not made better when The Sun reported Alana had a packed house for her seventeenth birthday.
Two tables were taken up by family and friends. This included Alana’s sisters Pumpkin and Jessica as well as Pumpkin’s husband and kids. Alana’s boyfriend, Dralin was all smiles alongside the birthday girl and it seemed like a perfect day. However, one key person was missing and that was their mother. She never missed a birthday, even when she was not invited as seen at Alana’s sweet sixteen. The intimate affair was crashed by June who had been MIA. She returned and then gave half of the family Covid. So, where was she and did she apologize?
In The Wrong?
After Mama June made her uninvited grand entrance at Alana’s sweet sixteen last year, it was quite a shock she did not attend this birthday. She has struggled with her relationships with her four daughters. Currently, she is estranged from her eldest, Anna. In April, sole custody of Alana was officially handed to her older sister, Pumpkin. As seen on Road to Redemption, June was not that keen on paying child support though she did settle on a number. Though she was there when Pumpkin gave birth to her twins and spilled the beans that they did in fact exist she has not been back to Georgia.
June’s husband, Justin Stroud cannot leave Alabama as of now. So, is that why she did not show up? It seems that some strain between June and the family may have kept her away. Alana was set to undergo weight loss surgery after her birthday which her mom did not approve of. Still, June sent her daughter a text, apologizing for everything, according to TMZ. She noted how proud she was, especially with Alana graduating this year. Additionally, she said she is here for whatever her daughter needs.
June acknowledged that there is still a lot to work on but she really believes it can happen. The text was hearted. As for a gift, there was a pair of $400 Nikes that Alana wanted and apparently, June snatched them up. Hopefully, Mama June actually means what she says.
