Many Dancing With The Stars fans love Sasha Farber. He’s never won a Mirrorball Trophy, but he always comes up with spectacular choreography. He and his celebrity partners also tend to make it to the finale. Sasha has two 3rd place spots under his belt and a few 4th place spots too.
But despite his skill in the ballroom, Sasha Farber will reportedly not have a celebrity partner in Season 31. Fans are not at all happy about this announcement.
Sasha Farber will return to DWTS this fall, but with a change
The official DWTS Season 31 cast list won’t come out until September 8. However, insider Krystin Burtt released the pro dancer list a few weeks early. Sasha Farber is still part of the cast, but not exactly how fans expected.
For several seasons, Sasha has had his own celebrity partner and competed for the Mirrorball Trophy. But in Season 31, he’s going to be part of the troupe instead. It’s been a few years since the troupe played an important role on the show, due to COVID-19. Burtt confirmed it will return in Season 31 with four dancers. They are returning dancer Ezra Sosa, SYTYCD winner Alexis Warr, Kateryna Klishyna, and Sasha Farber.
Season 31 male pros are:
- Val Chmerkovskiy
- Alan Bersten
- Artem Chigvintsev
- Gleb Savchenko
- Louis Van Amstel
- Brandon Armstrong
- Pasha Pashkov
Many DWTS viewers are excited to see familiar names, including the newly married Artem Chigvintsev. But Sasha’s move to the troupe is a major disappointment for many.

The DWTS pro parts ways with his wife
Many DWTS fans remember when Sasha proposed to Emma Slater after a live performance back in Season 23. They enjoyed four years of marriage together before announcing their separation this summer. Emma went on to enjoy a luxurious European vacation with her family while Sasha stayed home and cared for their pets.
For quite some time, many fans suspected that Sasha and Emma parted ways. They stopped posting about one another on social media, stopped wearing their wedding rings in photos, and didn’t acknowledge their wedding anniversary. The good news is that the two seem amicable enough. They toured together during the winter and even choreographed for So You Think You Can Dance over the summer.
Sasha and Emma haven’t officially filed for divorce yet, but it seems like the split is pretty definite. Fans hope they can continue to have a positive relationship, especially if they both continue with DWTS.
Stay tuned and see what happens next for Dancing With The Stars Season 31. The premiere date is just a few more weeks away so check back and see what’s happening next.
