Carlin Bates & Evan Stewart Share Sad News Amid Health Issues
Bringing Up Bates stars Carlin Bates and Evan Stewart hopped online recently to share the latest details of her health issues. Unfortunately, they have some sad news to share. Keep reading to get all of the details and see what is going on with their family.
Carlin Bates is working through health issues.
If you didn’t know, Carlin is working through some tough health issues. At this point, she is still searching for answers and an official diagnosis. For the past few months, Carlin has been having seizure-like episodes. She has been passing out and even hit her head hard once, causing a concussion.
Since this started happening, she has had numerous doctor’s appointments, tests, and emergency room trips.
In their weekly YouTube vlogs, Carlin Bates and Evan Stewart typically update fans on what is going on and reveal whether they have made any progress. In their newest YouTube video, the couple revealed they have some bad news.

In the video, Evan reveals that he has lost his job. Since Carlin Bates can’t be alone with their two young kids, Layla, 2, and Zade, 5 months, Evan was staying home. He was on FMLA, which secured his job while he was gone but he was not paid during this time.
Now, the FMLA has expired. He was able to ask for an extension, but his company does not offer FMLA extensions. So, he had to give up his job. He does have his Journeyman certificate, which will allow him to go back to work as an electrician at a later time.
Now, he’s going to be working at the Bates Sisters Boutique with Carlin, Whitney, and Zach. This way, he can still be with Carlin in case she has an episode and can still make money to provide for his family.
Carlin Bates and Evan Stewart briefly discussed the possibility of hiring someone to stay home with Carlin and the kids. However, this might end up being too expensive and Evan would still want to leave work if she had an episode.
