The 61-year-old hasn’t been on the show for three weeks now, and there are no signs of him returning. Frustrated fans took to Twitter to talk about his absence as one tweeted, “I might be late to the party, but I cannot watch Good Morning America until (George Stephanopoulos) comes back. I’ve been turning the channel for the past two weeks!”

“I have to turn it off when he’s not on!” chimed another.

Fans Are Concerned About George’s Absence

As per The Sun, Stephanopoulos was last seen anchoring the show on August 12, 2022. The TV host has been associated with the daytime news show for 13 years now.

  1. This is that time of year ………that parents are busy sending their kids off to college. George and Allie are no different. I might add, he’s also been away from his Sunday program for as many weeks. So possibly a family vacation and their eldest daughter beginning college could be two great reasons. I hope so anyway. I thought it was Robin that was supposedly leaving.

  2. There is a political back stabbing by David Muir. And they wanted to eliminate George . That is what we are seeing by eliminating him from all programs and staging David.

    1. I grew up with the likes of Edward R. Murrow, Walter Cronkite, Peter Jennings, Barbara Walters and Diane Sawyer. I know what good reporting is. I fervently hope George Stephanopoulos does not disappear. He is the strongest reporter on TV and the most intelligent and fearless. ABC would be stupid in the extreme to allow this to happen. I do not watch GMA or The Week and won’t until he returns. Viewers deserve the details on his being MIA. What are they?

As for David Muir, if there is some kind of feud AGAIN, the lesser loss would be Muir. Not that he isn’t good but he suffers by comparison. Keep both. If George wants to get involved in other projects AS WELL, fine. Don’t loose him.
