On social media, Courtney tends to keep things happy and lighthearted. With her nine children, there are many positive moments to share. She loves to brag about their accomplishments and show off their cute photos.
Of course, that doesn’t mean Courtney Waldrop’s life isn’t filled with ups and downs. Unfortunately, she has some sad news for fans. So, what happened?
Courtney Waldrop reveals a sad loss.
On her Instagram Stories on Friday afternoon, Courtney shared a snap of the sextuplets heading out to the chicken coop. You might recall hearing about the Waldrops working on building the coop. Their family eats a lot of eggs, so it’s convenient to have fresh eggs on their property.
As she filmed the kids heading to the coop, she revealed, “Going to check on the chickens. We had a hawk get one the other day.”
The mom of nine added a couple of sad-looking emojis, which you can see in the snap below. It sounds like they family is pretty sad about this devastating loss.
Then, she added, “So the sextuplets have been extra protective here lately.”

In another snap on her Instagram Stories, Courtney Waldrop proudly reported that the other chickens are doing well! So, they only lost one to a hawk. Though this is a sad loss, she seems relieved that the other chickens are all good. It certainly could have been worse.
Below, you can see a snap of the kids checking on the chickens. It looks like one of the boys is especially interested in the chickens and is giving them lots of attention.
Hopefully, the rest of the chickens are able to stay safe. The kids certainly seem to love having chickens on their property. Courtney Waldrop recently shared a sweet moment between Layke and a chicken.
