‘DWTS’ Gives Sneak Peek Of Season 31 Pro Dancers

Dancing With The Stars from ABC

Fans can hardly believe that Dancing With The Stars is coming back for a new season. Many fans have said they plan to boycott the new season after execs announced that ABC will no longer host the series. Instead, the newest season will have live episodes stream on Disney+. This was an unpopular choice with fans from the beginning, but viewers are really starting to make their voices heard online.

Even amid the controversy, the DWTS exec team is doing its best to get fans excited about Season 31. And that includes teasing some of the pro dancers returning in September.

DWTS hints that several fan favorites will return to the ballroom

Without a doubt, there will be a few changes to the pro dancer lineup this year. Jenna Johnson is currently expecting a baby in January and confirmed she would sit the season out. Peta Murgatroyd did not return for Season 30, but it’s widely believed she will sit out this year too. Right now, she and her husband Maks Chmerkovskiy are undergoing IVF treatments to conceive another child.

So who is coming back?

Dancing With The Stars recently announced that they will announce the full pro dancer lineup on Good Morning America the morning of September 8. But for now, there are a few faces that will almost certainly join the cast.

The official Dancing With The Stars Facebook page updated its cover photo, revealing some of the pros posing. They included Season 29 champion Artem Chigvintsev alongside Cheryl Burke. Witney Carson is at the top with the newly married Brandon Armstrong. And on the bottom right are Pasha Pashkov and his wife, reigning champion Daniella Karagach.

There hasn’t been any official word about other favorites like Sasha Farber, Emma Slater, or Gleb Savchenko yet. However, Sasha recently posted on Instagram that he, Artem, and Gleb were all at a pool party together. Many fans speculated that it was actually a DWTS-related event.

The competition will get a brand new host too

Although the move to Disney+ remains unpopular, there is one major change that will surely get a few people to tune in. Season 19 champion Alfonso Ribeiro is joining Tyra Banks as the show’s newest host.

“It feels great. Obviously, I’ve been a big fan of the show since the very beginning and to now be a cohost on the show and being back in the ballroom with all of my friends. They feel like family,” the Fresh Prince actor told Good Morning America.

  1. I hope that Shasha Lindsay androld Emma Sharna whitney. Mark ballas. Brandon peta Keo Alan return to season 31 dwts

    1. I will no longer be watching DWTS. It has gone from a well directed show of watching professional dancers train and develop non-pros into becoming excellent dancers. Watching their struggles and then their joy was fascinating. Now it has become a sound and light show where you can hardly even see the dancers due to the annoying lighting effects. They are asking their loyal audience to pay to watch a bungled up show now? I love watching dance. This show will no longer be on my list. Watching its’ downfall from an inspiring event to a failure has been so sad.

  2. Unfortunately, I will not be watching DWTS when the new season begins. Many families are financially overburdened these days, and I think it really sucks, that viewers are not expected to pay for watching the show. So much for rewarding fan loyalty. I’ve been a fan of the show since Season 1. I’m very disappointed in the powers that be. Greed. 😉

  3. I will not pay extra to watch DWTS on Disney +
I’ve been a faithful fan of the show since the beginning, but since Tyra had been hosting, it’s not the same. She made it all about herself with her hideous outfits and her entrance.
Put it back on ABC and I’ll watch again even though Tyra is hosting, the upside is she’ll have Alfonso to co host if she doesn’t cut him out.
