In their latest YouTube video, Carlin and her husband, Evan Stewart, went to Las Vegas for a work trip. Several other family members went along, too. Carlin and Whitney run the Bates Sisters’ Boutique, so they were at an event selecting clothing to carry at the shop.
At the beginning of the YouTube video, Carlin and Evan say goodbye to their kids, Layla, 2 years, and Zade, 4 months. Evan’s parents watched them for a few days.
As Carlin Bates left her kids, she felt very emotional. The video includes several clips of her crying in the car and in the airport.

On Reddit, Carlin Bates’ followers are discussing the video and saying that it’s odd that she wanted to record this moment. Fans don’t doubt she was sad to leave her kids, but they do think there’s a chance she played up the tears for more views.
One fan points out that it seems “terribly insensitive” of Evan to film his wife crying like this. However, others think it was planned.
One Bringing Up Bates fan writes, “I think they’d do anything for clicks and money. Most of the Bates kids and in their spouses are attention seeking. Evan used it as the thumbnail anyway so they couldn’t have been that upset about Carlin being filmed.”
Another one argues, “Carlin definitely wanted it filmed for content.”
One more of Carlin Bates’ followers is convinced it’s just for “views and money” and added, “They just want the money.”
