‘GMA’ Gio Benitez Snubbed By Co-Hosts?

The trio mentioned a crossword puzzle that appeared in the latest issue of The New York Times, which they showed to the audience at home. GMA hosts pretend not to know Gio Benitez

Gio’s mention in the famous crossword puzzle caused his co-hosts to pretend not to know him. On Monday’s show, Roberts changed his name as she joked that she was sitting next to “102 Down.” Gio sat there and had a good laugh. The joke was made after he appeared as a clue in the Sunday New York Times crossword puzzle.

“You know it’s funny cause the clue.. it said ‘Benitez of TV news,'” he told his GMA co-hosts. “Sam Champion texted back straightaway ‘I thought the answer was Bob.'”

The co-host joked that Sam “pretends he doesn’t know me.” Ultimately, Gio was snubbed by his cohorts. The newscaster also appears on 20/20, Nightline, and World News Tonight. He has since made the move to GMA.

Gio made his debut on July 14. He was well-received by the viewers at home. This friendly banter took place just a month after Gio and Amy’s NSFW interaction. On Monday, GMA fans were missing Michael and wanted to know where he was. Some of them took to Twitter to ask the burning question.

“Love Gio and Amy but where are your partners in crime? Missing Michael Strahan and George Stephanopoulos.” one user wrote.

Meanwhile, Michael Strahan has been working on his other show, The $100,000 Pyramid. He last took to social media to share two photos of himself wearing two shirts from his signature label.

“Which shirt is your favorite? I can’t decide. I love them all! (Not bias at all lol),” Michael wrote in his Instagram post.

He’s also been promoting the ABC game show, which changed its time slot. It first aired at 9 p.m. ET but now has switched to 10 p.m. following its July 10 premiere. Michael is a busy man who continues to be the host and producer of many shows that grace television. His career flourished after he left Live With Kelly & Michael.
