‘Today’ Craig Melvin’s Awkward Segment Goes Viral

Today host Craig Melvin took part in an awkward segment. He looked like he was in pain when he had to promote women’s lingerie on the morning talk show. Some fans took to Twitter to talk about how uncomfortable he looked. Craig even begged his guest to move on.

What happened on the Today Show?

The third hour of the Today Show featured Craig Melvin looking as if he was in pain. The buttoned-up host couldn’t help but share his feelings with the rest of America. He stood behind mannequins that wore sheer bras. Craig wasn’t feeling the segment and wanted it to be over as soon as possible.

Jill Martin visited the set of Today to talk about the latest fall fashion deals and steals. As every woman knows, that includes having the right undergarments. While Craig didn’t mind doing most of the segment, it was clear that he was uncomfortable when it came to talking about women’s lingerie.

At first, Jill discussed the day’s deals on kids’ backpacks and women’s hair clips. She mentioned a lingerie brand called Naked Rebellion. They introduced their new sheer bralette, which leaves little to the imagination. Viewers at home could see the pain on Craig Melvin’s face as Jill discussed the new brassieres.

She called it a “bra-substitute,” which “gives you support, but it also gives a little bit of fashion.” Jill explained that this is the first bra that women can wear under a tank top and let their straps show. Craig Melvin was visibly pained by the presentation. Yet, Jill continued to describe the features of the bralette.

She held up one of the bras to give an idea of how it would look. Craig then rushed her to move on. “We’ve spent enough time there, how about we come to the clogs!” he said. Jill laughed and added, “I was like I know you can’t wait to get out of that and forget all about it.”

Some of the Today Show fans noticed Craig’s obvious embarrassment as well. One tweeted, “Watching Craig hawk feminine garments was #priceless.”

Craig Melvin causes controversy

This fun moment comes after Craig Melvin caused controversy on the show. Back in March, he called out Will Smith for acting in “rage” when he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars. The comedian made a joke about his wife, Jada Pinkett Smith. The incident had everyone talking about the next day.

During the broadcast of the Today Show, Craig Melvin called Will’s actions “really disappointing.” He suggested that the Hollywood star should learn how to control his emotions. Craig noted that most people blame Black men and people of color for not being able to “control their rage and their anger.”

Today Show fans were not happy with Craig Melvin. They took to Twitter to share their thoughts. Most of them were supportive of Will Smith.
