Dancing With the Stars, Disney Plus, News, Reality TV

Dancing With The Stars pro dancer Sharna Burgess is loving life as a new mom. However, it’s not always rainbows and sunshine. Being a new mother is rewarding, but definitely comes with its own set of challenges.

Now that Sharna’s baby boy, Zane Walker Green, is a month old, she’s opening up a bit more about her postpartum recovery journey. See what she had to say about the process on Good Morning America.

Sharna Burgess didn’t expect to have a C-section during delivery

Since DWTS pro Sharna Burgess announced her pregnancy, fans wait patiently for updates. It was the dancer’s first pregnancy and they couldn’t wait to see her become a mom. She told fans her due date was in July. But baby Green had other plans and arrived on June 28, 2022 instead.

According to the Australian dancer, the birth was quite the ordeal.

“I went into it saying, ‘I don’t want a birth plan because I don’t want to go in and have it suddenly changing on me.’ But I also didn’t, for some reason, think I was going to have a C-section,” Sharna revealed on Good Morning America. She admitted she had no idea what the recovery process would look like.

She also confirmed her statements on her social media channels shortly after giving birth.

I didn’t expect a C section. I didn’t necessarily have a birth plan but even my relaxed go with the flow approach got tested when we were told this was the safest option,” the 37-year-old dancer shared on Instagram. “Our little Zane was trying so hard to get out but after 30+ hrs of labor and my water breaking TWICE, I just wasn’t dilating enough.”

But thankfully, everything turned out all right in the end. Sharna recovered well and baby Zane seems happy and thriving at home with his parents and brothers.

“I am in love with the experience,” she continued in the GMA interview. “I’m doing great. I feel amazing. I’m grateful for the way that I’ve recovered and I’m so grateful for our little boy.”

Zane is Sharna’s first child, but he’s Brian Austin Green’s fifth son. The two have wildly different experience levels when it comes to parenting, but there’s definitely lots of love to go around in the household.

What does the future hold for the dancer?

Now that Zane Walker Green is here, Sharna Burgess is slowly introducing friends and family to her baby. Brian Austin Green’s ex-wife Megan Fox even came to meet the little boy.

So what’s next for the dancer? Is Dancing With The Stars Season 31 in her future?

Giving birth is no easy task, but Sharna feels like she may be ready to bounce back and return to work. That is if her medical team clears her first.

“I would love to do the next season of Dancing With The Stars,” she told Us Weekly. “It’s a conversation — I have to wait another two weeks before I can work out to test my body to see. But as far as aesthetically getting the weight off or worrying about what I look like, I had the initial fear of looking in the mirror and seeing where I was at.”
