Mama Pumpkin Goes Filter Free In Stunning Selfie
Lauryn ‘Pumpkin’ Efird has been doing her best to keep her growing family intact. It hasn’t been easy as they have been struggling financially. Furthermore, she has been dealing with criticism over the way she has been mothering her teenage sister, Honey Boo Boo. However, she did take some time to share a new selfie. The mother of four (plus HBB) looks amazing. Read on to see the flattering pic.
Pumpkin’s Patch Is Overflowing
It was hard enough for Pumpkin and her husband, Josh Efird to become new parents and newlyweds within a matter of months. Then, everything changed in 2019 when she took in her younger sister Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson. Their mother, Mama June Shannon had gone down a rough spiral with drugs. She lost all of her money and had gotten arrested. Therefore, Alana needed a safe space and some stability. Pumpkin jumped right in and became Alana’s guardian.
It was not long until their older sister, Jessica joined the crew when June pawned the title to her car and she had nothing left. By 2021, Pumpkin welcomed her second child, a son named Bentley. There were a lot of cooks in the kitchen. Though June would come back and say she was going to help out, it was just empty words. She ended up spending obscene amounts of money on random men but not on her own children. Finally, she moved back to Georgia with her new boyfriend and seemed to want to be more active in Alana’s life.
That was when Pumpkin had sole custody papers drawn upon to ensure she would be able to keep Alana. Plus, that was what her sister wanted. Yet, there was a secret as she and Josh were expecting…again. This time, she was having twins so it was going to be a deeper financial burden. June assumed Alana was being adopted by her sister so she believed she had no financial responsibility. Child support became an issue and Pumpkin has been left strapped.
Shining Brighter
Due to the financial instability, Pumpkin and her family have done what they can to make a buck. Yes, she receives $800/month in child support from June. However, it is not nearly enough. When she told her mom she needed groceries, June said she should go on TikTok and make money. They are currently doing meet and greets with their fans as well as on Cameo, which Pumpkin and Alana heavily push. There is also talk of a show just about them.
Despite all of the financial and life stress, Pumpkin took the time to share a fresh-faced selfie on Instagram and she looks amazing. It was quick and in her story, saying “no filter needed.” Lately, she has been sharing photos of Alana’s senior portraits as she will graduate next year. The sixteen-year-old has already been accepted into college and is planning her next move. That is presumably deciding about weight loss surgery. Though June is against it, Pumpkin has signed off for her sister’s health.
