The Duggar girls and women aren’t the only members of the family who have to stick to a dress code. The former TLC family has many strict rules, including what they can and cannot wear. If you didn’t know, the former 19 Kids & Counting stars are a part of the IBLP (Institute of Basic Life Principles). One part of their beliefs influences the clothing they wear. They are encouraged not to wear graphic tee-shirts or shorts that may draw attention to their bodies.

So, what is the real reason that the men have to follow a dress code, too?

Why do the men have a dress code, too?

In a follow-up post on social media, Katie Joy further explains the Duggar men’s dress code and why it exists. She did some research on the IBLP and their beliefs about modesty.

Graphic shirts, shorts, and other potentially distracting types of clothing are known as “eye traps.” This applies to both men and women.

So, ultimately, the Duggar family follows this dress code as a way to spread their beliefs to others around them. You can read the full post from Without a Crystal Ball here and check out the IBLP trainings, too.
