Savannah Chrisley recognizes she wasn’t a healthy teenager

Todd Chrisley’s daughter reminds her 2.6 million followers that she spent a lot of time involved in beauty pageants during her childhood and teenage years. At the age of 17, however, she recalled things being pretty rough for her.

She explained: “At 17 When I was competing in pageants, I struggled with a borderline eating disorder. I would workout twice a day, not go to sleep until I ran at minimum 6 miles, and I would only eat once a day. I was 5”8 at 110 pounds. I WAS NOT HEALTHY!”

Fast forward to just a few days before she turns 25, Savannah Chrisley feels like a changed woman. She, however, fesses up that it wasn’t easy to get to where she is now.

Todd Chrisley’s daughter leaned heavily on faith and therapy

Savannah admits that she’s proud of the woman she’s become. Thanks to a significant amount of therapy and her commitment to her faith, she is no longer that body image obsessed teenager that runs from her problems.

She explained: “I’m honestly so proud…I’ve come a long way. I may only be 25 (well on the 11th) but I’ve lived a lot of life. I’ve gone through pain, suffering, heart break, losing myself, and so much more.”

Savannah Chrisley admits she realized something huge thanks to therapy and her faith. She didn’t have any love for herself. And, it was a HUGE problem.

But guess what…I was also running. I was running from myself and my inner struggles. I had ZERO love for ME. Over the years I have gone to tons of therapy and I’m learning to love ME and have a healthy outlook on my body and mental health. The work isn’t always easy…but it’s worth it!

Savannah Chrisley offers her followers advice

The reality TV personality concluded her moving Instagram post with some words of wisdom and nuggets of advice for any of her followers struggling with their own mental health battles.

She penned: “Today, I encourage you to take a leap of faith and show yourself some compassion, love, grace, and forgiveness.” At the very end of her post, she told her followers they had to work on giving themselves the love that they were desperately trying to get from someone else.

In the comments, her followers applauded her for being so raw and real with them. Many opted to keep their comments simple and just showered her post with love and support in the form of heart emojis.
