What Is Lifetime’s Lies Beneath The Surface About?
According to the Lifetime synopsis, while on vacation, Hanna is kayaking by herself in a remote lake. All of a sudden, she sees something suspicious happening at a cabin right on the lake. This is the cabin where a mother and daughter are staying, and Hanna thinks they are in trouble.
However, after she speaks to authorities, they find that nothing is amiss. They ignore Hanna and go on their way. But, when Hanna decides to visit the cabin to see for herself, she suddenly finds herself in a deadly game of cat and mouse!

In this movie, husband and wife Elise and Allan just purchased a beautiful cabin that overlooks the lake. Their lives are blissful until a new couple move in right next door.
This turns out to be Elise’s ex-friend Geena, and her husband, Lee. In a twist, Elise and Lee were a former couple, but Geena stole Lee from her friend. That incident ended their friendship.
Now that they are neighbors, Geena wants to mend fences. Although she is reluctant, Elise does forgive her. However, things quickly get crazy. While out walking in the woods near the cabin, Elise is attacked by a stranger that is heavily disguised. Worst of all, Elise is accused of having an affair with Lee!
Elise does not trust Geena and wonders what game she is playing. The two couples are at odds with each other and it soon gets worse. Geena is found murdered, and it looks like Allan did it.
Now, Elise has to figure out who did the crime and protect her husband, whom she trusts more than anyone else.
