Mama June’s Sister Doe Doe & Niece Get Life Changing Surgery
Mama June Shannon’s older sister, Doe Doe recently announced she was taking back her life. After dealing with some tough stuff over the past year, Doe Doe’s weight spiraled. In addition, her daughter Amber started to feel the burden of being physically unfit. So, they decided to take action and it happened sooner rather than later.
Mama June’s Sister Comes To The Rescue, Forgets About Herself
A common theme for this season of Road to Redemption was that June was always thinking about herself. Her older sister, Doe Doe said that was very much what their mother did. She always put men before them and left Doe Doe to take care of June. So, while June was off gallivanting in Alabama with Jordan, 24, auntie was right there. She would take Pumpkin’s kids off of her hands for sleepovers when the adults needed to have serious conversations. Furthermore, she was there to make Alana’s sweet sixteen as special as possible.
However, that was where June popped her head back in and exposed everyone to Covid. Most recently, Doe Doe was the savior, bringing Pumpkin baby necessities by the vanload. June has not been present in her kids’ lives as she is not leaving her husband Justin Stroud’s side. He is not allowed to leave Alabama at the moment so she has not been active or supportive with the new twins. Doe Doe has been extremely reliable and now it is time for her to think about herself. This became a mother/daughter effort when they revealed they were undergoing weight loss surgery.
The Deed Is Done
Mama June had weight loss surgery back in 2016 and hoped for a revision. Her goal was to help her to stop eating but that was not enough for the doctor to approve it. He maintained that she had to change her life first and then she could consider getting the revision. Then, her daughter, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson revealed she was considering weight loss surgery after her seventeenth birthday. As much as she wanted it to go from 275 to 150 pounds, she also had fears. This did not stop her aunt Doe Doe and Amber as they took the plunge just a few days ago.
Doe Doe shared the news on her Instagram page earlier today. They underwent Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (suture sculpt). It is said to reduce the stomach by 70-80%. Additionally, they will have tummy tucks and skin removal when they have lost weight, according to Doe Doe’s manager, Gina Rodriguez. Per Radar Online, Amber recently lost her father and that was a huge derailment for the ladies. It will be amazing to see the transformations.
