Jacob Rapini had time to reflect on his conversation with Gabby which has gotten a lot of attention. One of the things that causes a bit of awkwardness with two bachelorettes is when a guy isn’t into one over the other. The way the process is handled, the men have to let them know during conversations that the lead isn’t expecting.

This is what happened when Jacob decided to be honest with Gabby. He told her she was fun but they didn’t have the connection he was looking for. He took it a bit further and said, “if you were the only person here, I don’t think I would have the heart to continue. At the end of the day, we’re trying to find someone to spend the rest of our lives with.” He finished it by telling her she’s, “obviously smoking.”

Jacob Rapini Can ‘Kick Dirt’ According To Becca Kufrin

Lots of fans took issue with the way Jacob Rapini let Gabby know she wasn’t his person. According to Bachelor Nation, Becca Kufrin spoke out about it on her podcast. She said he told her, “it was just Gabby there he would send himself home, but that she’s smoking hot. Go kick dirt, Jacob.”

More so, she went on to say that wouldn’t make any woman feel better and he should have stopped talking. Jacob told Mike Johnson and Bryan Abasolo on their podcast he’d been thinking about the conversation a lot.

Jacob said, “once I spoke with Gabby and we ended that relationship, I didn’t actually get a chance to speak with Rachel the rest of the night. It had been a good few days since speaking to her.” He said his connection to Rachel wasn’t as strong as some of the other guys and he knew he’d messed up the opportunity.”

Would He Really Have Left If It Was Just Gabby?

The hosts asked Jacob Rapini if he would have truly left if Gabby was the only Bachelorette, and he said he would. Jacob honestly asked, “if there wasn’t a connection, why would I have stayed?” He said he wouldn’t lead someone on if they weren’t the one for him.”

Jacob does acknowledge he could have said it differently. Watching it he saw what he said and thought he did come off rude. Rapini said, “this girl who was watching next to me kicked me in the leg asking me why I would say that, and I was like, ‘I don’t know. Why did I say that?!’”

He Apologized On Social Media

Jacob did post an apology on his Instagram to Gabby Windey. He said, “want to take this moment to apologize to @gabby.windey for not taking into consideration her feelings. What I said was ignorant and not appropriate for the moment. I realized you don’t know what someone could be going through or where their headspace is at. Listening instead of explaining would have gone a lot further.” He went on to say he wasn’t making excuses; he knows Gabby will find love.
