‘Breaking Bad’ Is Coming To ‘Better Call Saul’ & Fans Are All In
Better Caul Saul only has a few episodes left before the award-winning AMC series comes to an end. Many fans have wondered how the show would lead into Breaking Bad. It looks like the show will dip its toes into that water in the next episode.
AMC revealed the title of this episode, airing on August 1, and the title is “Breaking Bad.” The synopsis reads, “The partners escalate their enterprise to new levels.” However, the title alone has many fans excited about possibly seeing Walter White and Jesse Pinkman show up in the prequel series.
Better Call Saul is breaking bad this week
There are two ways to think about Better Call Saul releasing an episode called “Breaking Bad.” Many fans think the most obvious is Walter White might finally make a big appearance in the show. Better Call Saul is the prequel series to Breaking Bad and reveals how attorney Jimmy McGill (Bob Odenkirk) becomes the ruthless Saul Goodman. Fans have been hoping that the series would go one step further and officially crossover into the Breaking Bad story.
However, fans might be disappointed. The reason that Breaking Bad has that title is that the former science teacher needed to secure a future for his family when he learned he was dying. He did this through meth production and that is when he “broke bad.” On Better Call Saul, Jimmy was an earnest attorney who ended up making a lot of bad decisions. In the end, he also “broke bad.” There is a chance this episode won’t crossover with Breaking Bad, but will instead show the moment where there is no turning back.
With that said, showrunners Peter Gould and Vince Gilligan said in April that Aaron Paul and Bryan Cranston would make an appearance in this final season of Better Call Saul as Jesse and Walter. If they don’t show up in this episode, that would be a dirty trick considering the title. Plus, Saul Goodman made his first appearance on Breaking Bad in an episode titled “Better Call Saul.”
Fans want the Breaking Bad crossover now
Fans want to see this crossover between Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul this week.
“#BetterCallSaul 6×11 title revealed: “#BreakingBad” written and directed by Tom Schnauz,” one fan wrote on Twitter. “If Walt and Jesse appear in this episode Twitter will blow off.”
Another pointed out the irony in the fact Saul made his debut on Breaking Bad in a similarly titled episode, writing, “I mean Breaking Bad had an episode titled Better Call Saul, this is just poetry.”
Finally, a third fan posted on Twitter that this excitement is rare for TV shows these days, writing, “The next episode of Better Call Saul is reportedly titled “Breaking Bad”. Will we finally get to see the introduction of Walter White & Jesse Pinkman or is this a clever misdirection? Can’t recall a show creating this level of excitement in the recent past.”
