‘Stranger Things’: Wait, Is Heather Matarazzo Gaten’s Mother?
Best known for her role as Lilly Moscovitz in The Princess Diaries, the Internet wonders if Heather Matarazzo could be related to Stranger Things star, Gaten. In fact, many Stranger Things fans are convinced there is enough of an age difference that Heather Matarazzo could even be Gaten’s mother. At the very least, the portion of the Internet that loves The Princess Diaries and Stranger Things speculates the duo must be related in some fashion because they share the same unusual last name: Matarazzo.

Turns out, are Gaten and Heather Matarazzo related is a question that comes up on Google a lot. The question has been going viral on multiple social platforms. This was after The Princess Diaries fans that also happened to love Stranger Things realized the actor and actress shared the last name: Matarazzo. Could they be related? Is Heather Matarazzo Gaten’s mother? For the most part, people ran with the idea that they were definitely related and she had to be his mother. Stranger Things fans thought it was awesome to picture Lilly Moscovitz as Dustin’s mother.
Oddly enough, Heather Matarazzo caught wind of people growing more and more curious as to whether she and Gaten were related. Turns out, people were even sending her messages asking her flat out if she happened to be the mother of Gaten.
The question came up so many times that Heather decided it was time to clear the air. She jumped on TikTok and created a video that has since gone viral. Are these two related? Is she his mother?

Heather Matarazzo penned in the caption that this video contained “important information” that people needed in their lives. Within the video, she proceeded to clear the air. Once and for all, she answered the question everyone was asking. Are Heather Matarazzo and Gaten related? Is she his mother?

Sadly, for The Princess Diaries and Stranger Things fans Heather is NOT Gaten’s mother. Coincidently, they share the same last name. But, they are NOT related.
She explained in her TikTok video: “I just wanted to clarify something because I’ve been getting a number of messages regarding this. I absolutely adore Gaten Matarazzo, I think he is brilliant, I think he is wonderful; but I cannot claim him as my son. Because he is not.”

Speaking to Gaten directly, she hoped he would create some sort of video or social media post as well to help dispel the rumor.
Gaten, if you would like to help confirm this, that would be greatly appreciated. I also wonder how inundated you’re getting with messages as well. So yes, love Gaten Matarazzo but not my kid. I have no kids–they’re all fur babies, I have four-legged babies.”
