Whitney Way Thore’s Mom Barbara Has Stroke, How Is She Now?

My Big Fat Fabulous Life fans were hit with gutwrenching news when a trailer for the new season dropped and it revealed that Whitney Way Thore’s mother, Barbara, had been rushed to the hospital. The trailer revealed a frantic Whitney rushing to her car and driving out of a parking lot after receiving a call from her father that her mother had been rushed to the hospital. While sitting on the couch, her brother Hunter tells the camera he had prepared for the worst as he thought his mother was dead.

In a separate scene, fans watch as Whitney Way Thore completely breaks down inside of her vehicle. While hysterically crying she makes it known that she isn’t ready to say goodbye to her mother. Likewise, her greatest hope is that her mother knows how much Whitney loves her.

Now, anyone who watched reality TV knows there is a time gap between reality and when these episodes actually air. Average time gaps are anywhere from three to six months. In some cases, they can be even longer. TLC viewers that watch Sister Wives, for example, poke fun at how far behind filming is from the reality of the Brown family. While fans don’t really know exactly how much time has passed between when Whitney’s mother had the stroke and today. Whitney, however, did post a photo of her mother celebrating her birthday exactly a month ago.

Ten weeks ago, Whitney posted a video of her mother chowing down on chicken wings. The TLC personality poked fun at her mother holding her pinky out while she chomped down on the chicken wings. In the comments, fans couldn’t believe how incredible Barbara looked for someone who wasn’t that far off from being 80 years old!
