Netflix Dropping New Shania Twain Documentary
On Wednesday, Netflix dropped the preview video for Shania Twain: Not Just A Girl. Soon, they are releasing a documentary about how the Canadian-born country singer started her career and where she is now, and everything in between.
The new Netflix documentary includes concert footage, music video highlights, awards shows, and a cornucopia of interviews from the past and present. This all pieces together Twain’s remarkable career.
On her YouTube page, Shania shared the video and wrote in comments, “It’s crazy seeing my entire career in 90seconds 😂 I can’t wait to hear what you all think…. honestly a bit nervous!! 😳🥰 Thank you for everything.”
According to the video synopsis, this documentary tells the story of an artist that found her voice and helped others to find theirs.
Not Just A Girl is the story of a woman who wanted to make her own way, completely independent of anyone else; the story of an artist who took enormous risks. Among the guest voices in Not Just A Girl are Lionel Richie, Diplo, Avril Lavigne, and Orville Peck.

‘Shania Twain brought a rebellious spirit to the genre that hadn’t existed for a couple of decades,’ says music journalist Eve Barlow.
It also touches on Shania’s impact on the LGBTQ+ community and artists across every genre today. ‘She reached through the stereo and made me feel safe when I was a young kid,’ says Orville Peck.

The new album is available digitally on Tuesday, July 26, and available on the physical format on Friday, September 2.
