Michelle Duggar’s Lack Of Age Appropriate Schooling Tickles Fans
Former TLC star Michelle Duggar homeschooled all 19 of her children. Many homeschooling moments were featured on her family’s shows, 19 Kids & Counting and Counting On. However, the education she gave her children and the content she taught has been called into question. Now, fans are giggling over the lack of age appropriate material she used. After Counting On was canceled after Josh Duggar’s arrest last year, fans began digging up old videos and pictures of the family. Though there’s little new content about the family these days, many clips from 19 Kids & Counting are still circulating online.
Michelle Duggar’s homeschool lesson resurfaces.
On Reddit, one of Michelle’s old homeschool lessons has been reposted. This lesson was included in a special about the Duggars titled 14 Kids & Pregnant Again.
In the video, the mom is educating her young children on bankruptcy law. Several of the kids are seated around the table with worksheets in front of them as she tells them what bankruptcy is.
Michelle Duggar’s lesson isn’t only for her oldest children. Some of her younger kids are also learning about bankruptcy law, as you can see in the video clip below.
At one point, Michelle speaks directly to her daughter, Joy-Anna. When 14 Kids & Pregnant Again aired in 2004, Joy-Anna was just six or seven years old. Some of the other kids at the table look even younger than her.

Fans tickled over the lack of age appropriate content.
On Reddit, Duggar fans and critics are discussing the resurfaced clip. Many of them are surprised to see such young kids learning about bankruptcy law.
One fan says, “Well Michelle definitely isn’t into age appropriate learning or teaching. Why would a Five year old need to know about bankruptcy?”
Someone else points out that Michelle Duggar is simply following a specific curriculum. The Reddit user notes, “That’s how the Wisdom Booklets work. There are 52 of them, everyone learns the same thing. When finished – start over.”
Another Duggar snarker adds, “The reason why homeschooling is ineffective sometimes is because there is no way you can teach that many age appropriate lessons. No way Josh and Joy should be learning about the same things.”
