Carlin Bates Gets Real With Fans About Health Amid Social Media Silence
Bringing Up Bates star Carlin Bates has returned to social media to give fans an update on her health after another challenging week. She has been dealing with seizure-like episodes for the past couple of months and is still seeking answers. She recently took a little social media break and has more details for fans now.
In case you missed it, her husband, Evan Stewart, recently gave fans an update from her Instagram stories. Though Carlin is usually active on social media, she has been awfully quiet recently.
Carlin Bates reveals she’s been ‘out of it.’
On her Instagram stories on Saturday, July 16, Carlin admitted to fans that she’s been trying to get on social media to give them an update. But she’s been in bed for four or five days now. She said that “it’d just be a lie” if she got online and acted fine “because I feel terrible.”
She said that she’s recently started taking her seizure medication again and she’s felt really out of it. During her EEG, she was supposed to take a break from the medication.
Because she’s gotten so much support and advice from fans who also have seizures, she asked about their experiences with anti-seizure medications. She’s not “fully passing out” with this medication. She is now having other concerning symptoms, including brain fog, blurred vision, headaches, and trouble communicating.

Amid all of these health challenges, Carlin Bates took a moment to spread some positivity and reminded her followers to give themselves grace. She knows firsthand that she can’t care for her family if she doesn’t care for herself first.
So, even though she has “feelings of mom guilt” because she can’t do much for her kids right now, she needs to be patient.
She said that she wants to be real. But at the same time, she’s trying not to be so negative all of the time.
Finally, Carlin Bates thanked fans for all of their support during this time. It sounds like she appreciates all of the love, prayers, and advice.
Right now, Carlin is still awaiting answers. She has had a series of tests done and the doctors don’t know if these episodes are caused by a heart issue or something with her brain. Hopefully, she will be able to figure this out soon so she can get the care she needs.
