Bringing Up Bates fans are outraged over the new video.

Over on Reddit, fans are taking issue with Alyssa Bates Webster’s latest video. They feel that Alyssa is dumping too many responsibilities on her children when they should be focusing on being children.

Many fans agree that it’s good for kids to do chores and take some responsibility around the house. Fans believe that there’s a problem with the amount and type of work Alyssa appears to be giving her children at such a young age.

One fan explains, “Because it’s clear these children are not children and are mini adults. No child should be doing all of these chores or have this amount of responsibility.”

Another chimes in, “I do feel bad for Allie, poor thing is doing a lot of work for 6-7 year old child. I’m ok with kids having chores and help around the house but make it age appropriate tasks.”

  1. omg my kids had chores at 5 and 7 wow this generation today is so fucked up thats why gen z people get made fun of. Chores teaches responsibility something todays generation knows nothing about. Good job alyssa just ignore the stupid. I had chores at 5 and 7 and had a great childhood.

      1. I think what you’re doing is great kids need responsibility my grandkids do chores they’ve done them since they were little doesn’t hurt them at all in fact I think it builds character and responsibility

  2. I was doing chores at that age, but my 24 year old daughter still thinks I need to do all the chores. Wish I would have started my daughter as soon as she could walk. Maybe more respect would be acknowledged.

  3. I’ve watched every Bates episode that’s been produced. Alyssa grew up with 18 brothers and sisters so she had chores at an early age which she is now teaching her kids. I see nothing wrong with Allie and Lexi doing chores. It teaches responsibility. And to whomever said they have an empty childhood, you must not be familiar with the Webster family. These girls live in a beautiful home and have amazing parents who put their needs first. This summer they were always playing together or swimming in their pool which is not the sign of an empty childhood. They choose to home school the girls which is working for their family. If you’re outraged as the above article states, just stop watching their channel. I have a nephew who didn’t know how to wash his own clothes when leaving for college. That alone shows that kids need chores while they’re growing up. Children learn what they live.
