Are Peta Murgatroyd & Maks Chmerkovskiy Hoping For Twins?
Dancing With The Stars pros Peta Murgatroyd and Maks Chmerkovskiy would absolutely love to have more children. However, Peta recently opened up and admitted she and Maks were having fertility issues. They did manage to conceive but sadly suffered through three miscarriages.
But the couple isn’t giving up on their dreams of parenthood quite yet. Peta and Maks are now going through fertility treatments. And now, they may even consider welcoming twins into their home. Keep reading to find out more.
Peta Murgatroyd may be willing to welcome multiple babies
Maks and Peta fully understand the ins and outs of fertility treatments. And they also understand that may mean that they could get multiple babies in one pregnancy. Us Weekly had the chance to talk to the Australian dancer about her family plans and whether or not she and Maks would want twins.
“Maybe,” the 35-year-old admitted when the publication asked about twins. “I’m still discussing that with Maks. That’s a huge difference. Huge!”
Maks and Peta have a five-year-old son named Shai. Going from one child to newborn twins will definitely be a massive change.
“I really want a girl … and he’s very much just wanting that bond with one baby,” Peta continued. “I think we’re both nervous about trying to balance two, with how to kind of share the love and be there for each baby.”
The fertility treatments have been difficult, but Peta admits that they have brought her closer to Maks. Their marriage is stronger than ever before.
“It’s traumatizing, and he’s the one that’s closest to me,” Peta told the publication. “So, he goes through it as much as I go through it, so to speak. It did bring us closer together. When you go through something like that, it’s just an ultimate bonding session. … When you come to those crossroads and those big decisions, making them together and moving forward together as a family unit is so important, and I feel like we did that.”
What does the future hold for the professional dancer?
Peta did say that she might like to return to DWTS for Season 31 this fall. However, if she and Maks manage to get pregnant, she will probably put those plans aside. But as September draws closer and closer, it’s probably something that’s really on the dancer’s mind.
“If they call me, I would gladly put up my hand and say, ‘You know, I want to do that,’” she told PopCulture.com. “That’s my first love, so I would not want to give that up type of thing. So yeah, [I’d] hopefully get a good partner and go all the way.”
