Police uncover a chilling scene in Corey Parker’s house

Corey Parker was a 25-year-old college student who worked at Ragtime Tavern. Her employer knew something was amiss when she didn’t show up to her shift on November 27, 1998. A coworker went to check on Parker, but she didn’t come to the door. The blinds were closed, but the coworker managed to see her foot through a crack in the blind.

Authorities were called and discovered an absolute grisly scene. They discovered that someone stabbed Corey Parker 101 times in her bed. They found evidence that she tried to fight back but was unsuccessful.

But who exactly hurt the poor woman and why?

Police believed that Corey Parker’s killer knew her personally

Right away, authorities knew they had to act quickly to gather evidence. The police found bloody handprints near the window, indicating that the killer exited the home that way. Authorities strongly believed the killer knew Corey Parker because of the 101 stab wounds.

There were several suspects at first. Authorities cleared Parker’s boyfriend, who was out of town during the murder. They also looked into one of Parker’s coworkers who allegedly had feelings for Corey. His name was Eric Ely and he reportedly asked Corey to have dinner with him alone.

Ely admitted that he was completely smitten with Corey Parker — but he also had violent fantasies about her. During the interview, Eric Ely gave authorities plenty of reason to think that he was behind the killing. But he denied committing the crime and police couldn’t find physical evidence to prove their suspicions.

Reports indicate that Robert Denney was pretty obsessed with Corey Parker. He was 17 years old when Corey died and he disappeared soon after her death.
