Mama June Rages, Says Sugar Bear Never Paid Child Support
Mama June Shannon is a big fan of airing her dirty laundry on social media. Her preferred forum has been TikTok where she goes live to answer followers’ questions. Back in June, she talked about a lot of personal things including her ex, Sugar Bear. Apparently, he did not do anything in regards to supporting their daughter, Alana ‘Honey Boo Boo’ Thompson. Her anger was beyond clear and she had plenty to vent.
Mama Bear And Sugar Bear Make Their Grand Debut
The family gained fame initially through Alana. She was an adorable pageant tot on Toddlers and Tiaras. It was her spunk and personality which helped land her and her family their own reality series. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo revolved around Alana and her relationship with her family. This included Mama June and her longtime partner, Mike ‘Sugar Bear’ Thompson. Though Alana was his only biological child, he helped raise June’s other three daughters as if they were his own. As a family, they were quirky, whacky, and fun, making for great guilty pleasure television. Unfortunately, the relationship between June and Sugar Bear soon started to crumble. They had a commitment ceremony but that could not mend the broken fences.
The couple tried to seek help via Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars. There, it was revealed that he had been unfaithful and she just could not forgive him. They ended the relationship and both moved on. He started saying Jennifer Lamb while she got involved with Geno Doak. Sugar Bear married Jennifer on June’s new reality show though no one cared for her. Geno seemed okay but he and June went down a dark and dangerous path together. Now, June has married Justin Stroud, a man she was dating for just six months while Sugar Bear and Jennifer have called it quits. Yet, some bad blood between June and Alana’s dad is coming to the forefront and it is not pretty.
Pay Up!
Back in April, Alana’s older sister Pumpkin was granted sole custody of her. In the ruling, Mama June was ordered to pay $800/month in child support to Pumpkin. No word was said about Sugar Bear. On old episodes of June’s reality show, his now-ex-wife, Jennifer did a paternity test on Alana which was inconclusive. More so, she was always digging and fans hated her. Regardless of this, he was always Alana’s dad but now, June is claiming he never paid child support for the sixteen-year-old. In a TikTok rant from June 21, June went off and she could not be stopped.
June was “attempting” to explain the legal situation that precipitated her having to pay child support. She claims that $800/month was deemed sufficient since Alana makes her own money. Keep in mind that Alana is only sixteen. She also added that Pumpkin makes money, as well. However, it bothered her that they never asked Sugar Bear for anything and that he has never had to pay anything for his child. Justin can be heard in the background telling June that they are all watching and they are going to report her. She seems to not care anymore.
