Heartbroken Meri Brown Suffers Great Loss

Meri Brown Sister Wives TLC

Meri Brown of Sister Wives took to her Instagram Stories with a very somber update. In a series of video clips that were just a little over a minute long, she said she was at her B&B. She added that they were suffering a “great loss.” A loss that was leaving her heartbroken. Did someone in the family pass away? What “great” and “heartbreaking” loss was Meri referring to?

Sister Wives: Meri Brown suffers great loss

“We are suffering a great loss,” Meri Brown said at the beginning of her update after explaining that she was outside of her B&B right now. “And I’m quite brokenhearted.”

Meri proceeded to flip the view of her camera so her Instagram followers could see what was going on at her B&B. What great loss was she talking about?

When Meri Brown flipped the view of the camera, her followers were looking at the front of the B&B. Directly in front of the B&B were a few gorgeous trees.

Meri noted, “this is what it is” before explaining that two of the trees on her property in front of the B&B “had” to be taken down. She added that it “had to happen today.” Meri Brown’s tone had a blend of seriousness and sadness as she continued to explain why.

Shifting her view a bit, Meri showed the slanted angle of the camera. She insisted that the trees were not being taken down “just because.” They were being taken down because of the problems they presented.

Why did she have to get them taken down?

According to the Sister Wives star, this was not a “just because” situation. The TLC personality explained they reached out to a professional tree service because of the slanted tree in front of the B&B. There was a concern the tree was a safety risk. The tree service determined the tree was a safety risk and it would need to be removed. While they were there, however, they noticed there was another issue. A second tree.

Meri Brown points to another tree and says that she was told it was causing issues with the powerline. So, it would need to be removed as well. The TLC personality tells her followers she’s absolutely gutted by this great loss. It is going to change the view from her beautiful B&B and she’s not happy about it.

Meri Brown admits the only saving grace is knowing the big tree in front of the B&B is not getting taken down as well.

  1. I live in the same town as the B&B. The tree across from us, on an undeveloped property blew down in May. It was a huge cotton wood, and we were lucky no one was hurt. Old trees are blowing down all over town. It’s devastating to watch these beautiful trees be cut down, but unfortunately it needs to happen.

    1. Meri the house is beautiful with or without the trees. Plant a new one’s, they’ll look fantastic. 🌳🌴 You can always put in a beautiful flower garden too 💐🌹🥀🌺🌷🌸💮🌼.

  2. No Meri, … a “great loss is the 19 school kids being shot is Uvalde”. Not your trees . Sorry
That is an example of a loss. Choose your words carefully

      1. Exactly! It is sad anytime a tree is lost! I’m sure she is sad about Uvalde too! Everyone is! There are lots of sad things going on right now! I think she is a very good person!

      2. You need to be ashamed of yourself Mandy! This home now B&B. Has been in her family for generations. It may not matter to you but I’ve been in her shoes as well and it’s devastating. It’s not the material things that matter it’s the joyful memories and people places and things that mean somuch

    1. Hey idiot, learn how to read. Meri didn’t say anything about losing trees. A lady by the name of Marta spoke of old trees being cut down in her hometown. If you want to act like a Karen, at least educate yourself before you speak.

      1. Actually the article did discuss Merit losing 2 trees that had to be cut down. Click on the ‘read more’

    2. Are you the feelings police no its a great loss to her and that’s ok let me guess you are ok with the Roe v Wade being gone too keep your opionins to yourself how do u like it ..I bet your a trump lover too.. don’t like shoe being on other foot.. go away Karen..

    3. Seriously? No one said it was a tree…. And if it was there could be a reason it’s a loss for her! No reason to be a B!

    4. Yes, Mari, I understand your broken heart. I live in Texas & the unusual weeklong FREEZE visited upon the normally warmer State several years ago caused 1 of our 2 girgeous & welcome shade producing Live Oak Trees had to be removed.

This year our 2nd Live Oak Tree is nearly dead from Oak Wilt & we are waiting til September to remove it for the birds’ sake & cover. Most leaves are gone. Extremely sad!!! Plant new trees!!!

    5. If you have nothing nice to say about her story and her sadness. Just don’t say anything. Why are you bringing up a tragedy that has nothing to do with what Mary is going through. Yes Ulvalde is horrible but let’s put context where context needs to be. Go on a page that is talking about Ulvalde. . Not here!

  3. With everything that’s going on in this world kids starving kids dying homicides all over the world and you talkin about heartbroken over a tree people losing their jobs get a life wake up

  4. I so agree about the description of Meri’s “great loss”. Yes the loss of a tree is upsetting, but compared to the devastating losses of so many “lives” in this country recently, the loss of a tree doesn’t compare!!!

    1. Every loss to anyone person is different, I don’t believe that Mary feels the loss of her tree is greater than the loss of anyone’s life! She is simply telling us that she is sad for the loss of the tree.

    2. If you read further Meri does say she’s sad about her trees, it seems one was interfering with a utility line and another was a safety hazard. I’m sure in the moment losing something beautiful is hard. That doesn’t mean she doesn’t consider disasters and tragedies also sad or heartbreaking. Meri did post this on Instagram I believe and who really uses Instagram for important current events. Lol

  5. I can understand when a tree that has meaning to you has to be cut down. My Mom planted a Christmas tree in our yard .It was growing, and we joked, from a dollar plant, one day in front of a NY landmark. One day I go in the yard and it was attacked by some virus. The tree was one of my Mom’s plants. I would look at it and think of my Mom. To me that was heartbreaking. Yes the children being killed in Texas was tragic and a tree can not compare. But it was the loving memory I had of my Mom.

  6. Death, fire, flood, earthquake, devastation….those would be definitions of great loss, not the esthetics of your B & B.

  7. Thank you for saying that Mandy. It doesn’t mean she is not compassionate about what happened in Uvalde Texas . She is aloud to be upset about her trees .

  8. How do we even know Mary even said that? This is called blowing up by media that’s what this is called. Mellow out people find something to do with your life besides be negative on social media!

  9. Noome Seems to have compassion for anyone or anything . Be it a tree or a human or a home. The world needs to understand all things mean something in our lives, even you all have special memories deep down ín side

  10. Meri the house is beautiful with or without the trees. Plant a new one’s, they’ll look fantastic. 🌳🌴 You can always put in a beautiful flower garden too 💐🌹🥀🌺🌷🌸💮🌼.

  11. I think most of the judgement falling on Meri is so uneducated. You don’t actually know what she is so sad about! A while after my grandma passed the city came in and cut a large path completely through our gathering of oak trees that went through my grandma’s property. My mother had a total breakdown down. Not because of the trees! She had never greaved the loss of her mother so don’t think you know it all!!!

  12. Meri never said anything about the trees it was someone in the comments talking of her own feelings then like a bunch of third graders that failed reading comprehension you all jumped ship and had a Karen moment your self about trees and lack of perspective……dear deaf god glad I can’t hear you all Karen cock fighting.

  13. Meri NEVER mentioned what her loss was…. many of you are assuming it was trees because of the first posted comment. Why are people so quick to judge someone else?
