But, is the adult sitcom returning for another season?

Fans Criticize Q-Force’s Stereotypical Representation

The show dealt with a lot of criticism right from the day the first trailer was released. As per What’s On Netflix, fans condemned the stereotypical portrayal of characters even after the series’ release. The critics weren’t kind after the trailer’s release. However, the criticisms weren’t as heavy after fans got to see the series in its entirety.

Currently, the animated series sits at a 29% Rotten Tomatoes rating, with the consensus being mostly negative. As per a critic, the series’ spirit is in the right place. However, the general absence of humor and dated stereotypes make the series fall flat.

Ever since the release of the first season, it has been unclear whether Q-Force would return for a second season. Unlike other popular animated projects, this Queer animated series failed to receive a massive upfront order for another season. However, it is now confirmed that the series will not come back, at least not on Netflix.

Matt Rogers Confirms Q-Force Won’t Return For Another Season

On May 5, Matt Rogers spoke on a Podcast named Attitudes! confirming that the show won’t return for another season. He served as one of the show’s writers and voiced the character Twink. He added that regardless of its non-renewal, he is still proud of the show. Matt also implied that the animation did a great job representing the LGBTQ+ community.

However, Matt did provide some reassurance stating that the first season is here to stay on Netflix. The fans that love the show really loved it for what it is. Erin Gibson, the podcast’s host, added that there might be a future for the show. While not on Netflix, it could be revived in some other form, given how special it is. Something similar happened with Tuca & Bertie sitcom that got its second life with HBO Max after it was canceled by Netflix following its first season.

Will Peacock Revive Netflix’s Q-Force?

The animated series’ distributor is NBC Universal Television, so a Peacock revival might be in the air like Tuca & Bertie. This news came around right when another similar series made it to Netflix. LGBTQ-focused series Dead End: Paranormal Park was recently released on Netflix. And, fans feel that its future is similar to Q-Force.
