‘DWTS’ Jenna Johnson ‘Proud’ Peta Murgatroyd Opened Up
For several years, Dancing With The Stars pro Peta Murgatroyd said she would very much like to have another child. But sadly, the dancer also admitted she and her husband Maks Chmerkovskiy were having some fertility struggles. Peta also informed fans that she’s suffered through several miscarriages, but isn’t giving up hope. Now, her sister-in-law Jenna Johnson is speaking in support of Peta.
Jenna married Maks Chmerkovskiy’s younger brother, Val. All four of them are professional dancers and have worked with DWTS at some point.

Jenna Johnson showers Peta Murgatroyd in praise for her bravery
Since Jenna Johnson and Peta Murgatroyd married into the same family, the women have been thick as thieves. Jenna loves being an aunt to Peta’s 5-year-old son and the families spend a lot of time together.
In the past, Jenna and Peta even joked that they had a pregnancy pact. Jenna and Val Chmerkovskiy don’t currently have any children, but they said they would like some someday.
But in the meantime, it seems like the couple just wants to uplift and support Maks and Peta.
“As a family [we’ve] obviously known about this and her struggles with it,” Jenna told Us Weekly in an interview recently. “She’s kept it very private for the past two years. So when I saw the beautiful piece that they did and that she finally opened up, I just called her and told her how proud I am of her, because I know how much heartbreak that brought her and how badly she wants another baby.”
Without a doubt, it’s a painful journey for Peta and Maks to navigate. But Jenna is just so proud of her sister-in-law for speaking out.
“For her to come out publicly and to share her story, I just think that she was there for so many women who don’t feel like they’re heard and who are experiencing exactly what she’s going through,” the 28-year-old dancer continued. “You know, if you look at the numbers, it’s like one and every four women will have a miscarriage or infertility. So it’s more common than not.”
Peta has her eyes on the horizon and keeps pushing forward
The road ahead definitely won’t be easy, but Peta said that she isn’t giving up on her dream. She and Maks are currently undergoing fertility treatments in hopes of conceiving very soon.
“I don’t have any other words but hope and positivity. I’m crossing my fingers that this is going to work,” the Australian dancer told PEOPLE.
