In When Calls The Heart, three actors have played Little Jack. First, Gunner and Lincoln Taylor. They adorably portrayed Baby Jack from Season 6 through Season 8.
Then, in Season 9, both the Taylor Twins and Hyland Goodrich portrayed Little Jack in the first two episodes. Starting with the third episode, “Turn Of The Page,” only Hyland Goodrich played Elizabeth’s little boy.
Throughout WCTH Season 9, he charmed the cast and Hearties with his adorableness. He is known to ad-lib his lines, and make the cast laugh. He is a charmer. His Instagram bio says, “4-year-old conversationalist 👦 Avid rock collector & puddle jumper Little Jack @wcth_tv 🎬”
However, Hallmark has not shared whether Hyland is back for a second season, or if the Taylor Twins will return. We will likely know through social media later this summer.
Why When Calls The Heart Fans May Wonder If Taylor Twins Could Return
When it first was announced that the Taylor Twins were leaving When Calls The Heart, it seemed like a temporary thing. On Instagram, they wrote, “Words out – Taylor twins have taken the year off of filming and even though we miss our WCTH family, we will never forget the three years we spent on set. We can not wait to see our new friend Hyland on the show and look forward to meeting him! This is not goodbye – it’s see you later ❤️”
Does “later” mean an intended return to the Hallmark series after a year? Or could it have been a decision to take a year off of acting in general, without a commitment to return as Little Jack? This turn of the phrase could be confusing.
In addition, the Taylor Twins’ Instagram bio reads, “Taylor Twins. Newest addition to WCTH! We, the Taylor twins Lincoln and Gunnar play the role of baby jack. Follow us on our journey. This is a mommy-run account :)”
Even if the Taylor Twins do not return to WCTH, this description is important for those new Hearties. Around the world, people are finding the series and catching up with it.
However, Hallmark has never explained why the Taylor Twins decided to take time off, nor did they need to.

How old are the three actors who have played Little Jack? We can answer that question, thanks to social media run by their respective families. On February 19, the Taylor Twins posted on Instagram, “THIS IS 4!!!!!!”
On June 12, Hyland Goodrich posted an Instagram video. Hyland said, “Thanks for the birthday wishes Hearties. I really appreciate it!” The caption read, “As you probably know, our little Hylander turned 4 on June 2nd, and he has a special message for all of the Hearties who took the time to wish him a happy birthday! He had such a special day, and so far he thinks being 4 is amazing and makes him the “biggest boy ever”, with “super speed”!🏃🎉🥰”
Erin Krakow shared a special Happy Birthday message to Hyland on Instagram. “Happy Birthday @hylandgoodrich! You bring so much joy to everyone you meet, and everyone who sees you on screen! You delight us with your love of nature, toy cars & trucks, and toots! 🤣 You’re curious and kind and so much fun to be around! Thank you for sharing your special spirit with all of us!”
The messages are adorable. Moreover, that means that Hyland is just about four months younger than the Taylor Twins.
