Real Reason Kody Brown Refers To His Wives As ‘Mrs. Brown’?
Sister Wives star Kody Brown had four wives for 16 seasons. Christine Brown just leave the family this past fall, but she was part of the family for decades.
Since Kody has so many wives, there are several women who identify as “Mrs. Brown.” The family patriarch sometimes does refer to his wives as “Mrs. Brown,” but not in a cute or playful way.

Sister Wives fans hate when Kody Brown uses the nickname
Over the course of 16 seasons, Kody Brown’s relationships have soured with three of his wives. But he seems happier than ever with Robyn, the fourth wife.
So what’s up with the odd way he refers to his wives as “Mrs. Brown?”
Reddit users never have any shortage of opinions when it comes to the Sister Wives family. And of course, they has something to say here too.
“I always hated the way Kody calls his [wives] ‘Mrs. Brown’ sometimes,” one Redditor wrote. “You can tell he’s pissed at them when he calls them that. I’m doing a rewatch and while Robyn is actively PUSHING Ariella out Kody calls her ‘Mrs. Brown’ because she’s not obeying him. Then it hit me, maybe he calls them Mrs. Brown to remind them of his ownership of them?”
Many other Redditors echoed similar sentiments.
“It always rubbed me the wrong way that their family mission statements say ‘the Kody Brown family’ at the top,” someone else added. “Again, an ownership thing.”
Ultimately, it appears that Sister Wives fans believe that Kody Brown just calls his wives “Mrs. Brown” when he’s angry with them or wants to display his power over them. It’s not at all a cute moniker.
But one Reddit user had their own opinion.
“Maybe he wanted to have loads of wives and didn’t plan to commit their names to memory,” they added.
