Kim Kardashian Reveals How She REALLY Lost 21-Lbs

Kim Kardashian opened up on the Today show on Tuesday about losing 16 pounds to fit into the iconic Marilyn Monroe dress for the Met Gala. However, the star’s weight loss didn’t end with the gala. Kim has continued to lose even more since the event in May. Keep reading to see how she’s done it.

Did She Damage Marilyn Monroe’s Dress?

The reality television star and business mogul was on the Today show to promote her new nine-step skincare line. That’s right, nine steps! Kim acknowledged that at her age, “a lot goes into making sure [her] skin is well taken care of.” Her nine-step skincare line allows her to share the products she uses with everyone else.

Although she was there to speak about her new skincare line, Kim was asked about what it was like to wear the iconic “Happy Birthday Mr. President” gown that belonged to Marilyn Monroe. She discussed the “handlers” sent from Ripley’s Believe It Or Not to ensure nothing happened to the gown. When she arrived at the red carpet event, she wore slippers and a robe.

“I put the dress on on the bottom of the carpet. I went up the stairs — I probably had it on for 3 minutes, 4 minutes,” Kim detailed. After that, she sported a replica of the gown for the rest of the evening.

People on social media have been reeling since the event, stating that Kim ruined the historic dress. Both Kim and Ripley’s have denied any damage to the gown. “The dress was in the same condition it started in,” Ripley’s VP of Publishing and Licensing Amanda Joiner said in a statement. Joiner was the Ripley’s Believe It Or Not representative that stayed with Kim and the dress throughout the entire process.

Kim has said she hopes wearing the dress to the Met Gala helps a new generation of fans learn about Marilyn Monroe. She thanked Ripley’s for helping her make it happen.

How Kim Kardashian Is Staying Trim

To be able to share that moment in history with everyone at the gala, and everyone watching, Kim had to lose 16 pounds. She pulled it off in a matter of three weeks and has continued to lose weight since the event.

Following the Met Gala, Kim received a lot of backlash on the internet for losing so much weight in such a short amount of time. Kardashian responded by comparing it to what actors and actresses do to prepare for a role. She also pointed out that she isn’t suggesting any of her fans or followers take the same route for weight loss as she did.

“I cut out so much sugar — a lot of junk food I was eating, I didn’t realize, like a lot of fried foods. And I just completely changed my lifestyle,” she said when asked what her secret was. Since then, she’s completely changed her lifestyle, leading her to drop another five pounds.

Kim Kardashian says she doesn’t plan to drop any more weight. However, she is feeling great and has “more energy than ever.”

  1. Any time you lose weight by kicking sugar and junk food out of your diet, it’s a win win. Whenever I feel I’m putting on a little too much extra, I drop the sweets and it works. It even gives you more energy for walking and smiling. Go Kim! You look marvelous!
