Now, fans are trying to figure out if she dresses a certain way due to her self-esteem or because of her parents, Michelle and Jim Bob‘s strict rules. Growing up, all of the Duggar kids are expected to dress modestly. Now that some of the women are married, they have begun dressing differently. But 14-year-old Jennifer is still living at home and is too young to get hitched.
Fans are curious, though, because the Duggars seem to be relaxing their rules a bit these days. Yet Jennifer continues to dress modestly. Is this due to her self-esteem or her parents’ rules?

This week, Jinger Vuolo hopped online to share with fans that Jennifer, Jana, Ben, and Jessa had gone to California to visit her. Below, you can see a photo of all of them together.
After Jinger posted on social media about her sisters and brother-in-law visiting her, fans took to Reddit to talk about it all. One topic that came up is the girls’ fashion choices. Fans applauded Jana and Jessa for wearing jeans and fitted tee shirts. But as you can see, Jennifer Duggar is still dressing the same way her family always has.
One Reddit user points out, “Sometimes I wonder if Jenni wears this style of clothing because of body image issues. She’s the only one who does in her family.”
Another one adds, “I think she feels too tall. Plus her body shape is very different from her sisters’ so she looks like she feels self-conscious. Poor girl.”
Of course, it is possible that she’s still dressing this way because her parents won’t let her wear pants. It’s worth noting that the Duggar women who do wear pants now are all married.
However, Jana Duggar is an exception because she still appears to live at home at 32. Maybe, at this point in Jana’s life, Jim Bob and Michelle have decided to ease up.
We don’t know why Jennifer Duggar still wears such modest clothing and whether she has a choice. But fans hope she isn’t struggling with her body image.
