The women of Sister Wives are all very different people. However, they all share a husband. So how can Kody Brown possibly keep up with all their needs?
Fans online discussed the wives’ love languages. This is the way they give and receive love. And as Sister Wives viewers know, Kody really isn’t doing everything in his power to meet those needs.
Check out the discussion below.
The stars of Sister Wives have very different emotional needs
Throughout Sister Wives, each wife has expressed discontent when Kody doesn’t spend enough one-on-one time with them. But between four wives, 18 children, and three grandchildren, Kody finds that his time is stretched pretty thin.
That’s why some viewers believe that Kody Brown could do much better if he addressed each wife’s love language instead. For those who don’t know, the five love languages are:
- Words of affirmation
- Quality time
- Receiving gifts
- Acts of service
- Physical touch
So which ones do Kody Brown’s wives fall under?
“Meri is words of affirmation. All she needed was someone to talk nicely to her. That’s why the catfish got her,” one Reddit user explained. “Janelle is acts of service. She wanted Kody to do the dad thing. And mostly the things about polygamy she talks about liking are things like ‘I have time to just go to the movies and then someone else makes dinner!’ ‘Everyone else went early and set up the vacation and I just had to show up.'”
“Christine is quality time,” the Redditor continued. “She talked about it in the book, she talked about it when they moved to Vegas. … She wanted him present and in the moment when they were together. That’s why she is gone. Robyn is gifts. That is why her house looks like a hoarder’s nest.”

Does the Brown family really practice what they preach?
Sister Wives fans don’t think that Kody Brown can emotionally support his wives. But many of them also think that the Brown family isn’t quite as pious as they want people to believe either.
“The longer this show went on the more I believe that they aren’t really practicing any particular brand of Mormonism and just made it up as they went,” one Redditor said about the Sister Wives cast.
