What Led To The Voice Contestant’s Arrest?
According to arrest records, Kata Hay was taken into custody in Sumner County, TN. The documents state that Hay allegedly made s*xual comments about a friend’s son in front of his parents. Hay had been staying with the family for a short period of time until the night of the incident.

After making sexual comments toward the 16-year-old, Hay allegedly forced herself on him. She reportedly made out with the young boy. Then he claims that she forced him to touch her inappropriately.
The mother of the 16-year-old boy went to the authorities with a recorded conversation between her and Kata. She confronted her about the inappropriate behavior with her son and then asked her to leave. In the recording, Hay allegedly acknowledges that what the mother is accusing her of is true.
It is possible that Hay was under the influence of drugs or alcohol during the confrontation with the boy’s mother. She may have also been under the influence when the alleged incident occurred.
Upon her arrest, Hay was also processed for a probation violation for an unrelated DUI charge. When approached for comment, Hay told TMZ, “As you know, a charge is not a conviction.” She neglected to make any further statements regarding the matter.
When Was Kata Hay On ‘The Voice?’
For those not familiar with Hay, she made The Voice Top 20 in 2016. Prior to appearing on the show, Hay was working in a karaoke establishment in Nashville.
Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine, and Pharrell Williams all turned around for her blind audition performance. However, she is best known for being the contestant that kissed Aguilera during her audition.
“You were my official first girl crush,” Hay said to Aguilera on the show, “You’re so frickin beautiful in person.” The judge then told Kata she was beautiful too and the pair shared a kiss on stage. At the time, Pharrell Williams joked that it was his dream come true to see that.
Aguilera said there would be more of that to come if she decided to join her team. To no one’s surprise, Hay chose Aguilera to be her coach. After her audition, Kata admitted that her girlfriend wasn’t too happy about the public kiss.
At the time, the kiss shared between the two women on stage seemed harmless. Given the latest news about Kata though, it is a little cringy.
The Voice will be returning to television this fall for Season 22, but a premiere date has not yet been announced.
