‘Duck Dynasty’ Uncle Si Robertson Preps For Life Saving Lung Surgery
Troubling news for Duck Dynasty fans as Uncle Si Robertson is scheduled to have lung surgery following nearly two years of various battles with his health. According to Taste of Country, the 74-year-old remains in good spirits as he seems thrilled the surgery is moving forward. Likewise, Uncle Si can’t wait until he’s back to talking everyone’s ears off!

Duck Dynasty: Uncle Si Robertson admits to his mistakes
Via a few different episodes of the Duck Call Room podcast, Uncle Si Robertson acknowledged that his habit of smoking didn’t do his lungs or breathing any favor. Having COPD, things got scary when he tested positive for COVID-19 in 2021. Sometime later, the Duck Dynasty star got candid with fans on his podcast that he wasn’t sure he would survive COVID. Moreover, he feels that he didn’t do everything he could have done for the sake of his health and wellbeing.
Turns out, Uncle Si took a pretty stubborn approach to COVID. He wasn’t interested in being in the hospital. So, he was sent home after a few days of medication refusal. He later stopped being so stubborn and recovered. It was last month that Uncle Si started to open up about his need for lung surgery.
Why does he need lung surgery, exactly?
During his podcast, Uncle Si went into detail about why he was in need of this lung surgery. He explained that his issue wasn’t really when he took air into his lungs. The issue occurred when he tried to exhale. While exhaling, one of his lungs isn’t performing properly. So, his lung surgery will involve the surgeon installing a device that will help the under-performing lung to function as it should.
Now, it sounds like there are still some details to work out. But, the surgery is happening in the very near future. Here’s his official statement on the upcoming surgery:
There are a few more things we have to do, but it looks like I’m approved for lung surgery. Then I’ll be able to talk your ears off with even more stories, all guaranteed to be 95 percent true.”
