‘Sister Wives’ Fans Dissect Kody Brown’s Motives Behind AZ Move
When the Brown family left Utah, they settled in Las Vegas, Nevada. The family lived there happily for a number of years until patriarch Kody Brown started getting restless.
He made the very unpopular decision to uproot the family and move them to Flagstaff, Arizona. Needless to say, this definitely caused a lot of drama and havoc within the Brown family.

Sister Wives fans think Kody Brown is pretty self-serving
Back in 2018, Kody Brown told PEOPLE that he just felt called to move the family out of Las Vegas.
“As much as we’ve loved making our home and memories here in Las Vegas, we are excited to embark on a new adventure in Flagstaff, Arizona!” the family said in an official statement at the time. “We are looking forwards to cooler temperatures, the mountain air, scenic views and the slower lifestyle of Flagstaff.”
But was this really the reason behind the move? Redditors think that Kody’s ego had a lot more to do with it than anyone let on.
“How can any be as stupid as Kody with the AZ move?!” one Redditor wrote in a new thread.
“Thinking he could build in a year without utilities or a whole team of people like they did in Vegas?” another Redditor replied. “I just don’t understand how you don’t even google ‘how to bring utilities to land’ before uprooting your whole family! My partner said that they think he did it on purpose to put his wives into chaos. This is why you don’t have four wives who placate your ego- you then think you’re smarter and more capable than you actually are.”
The Redditor went on to criticize Kody for uprooting his kids and taking them several states away on a whim. Other users chimed in and agreed a lot of it had to do with Kody’s need for control.

Is the family patriarch really afraid of establishing roots?
Of course, this isn’t the first time that Reddit dragged Kody Brown online for his ridiculous behavior. There is another recent thread that suggests despite having four wives, Kody is actually terrified of commitment.
“When he made the pitch to move a few episodes earlier, he was emphasizing that because of the market they had to do it immediately,” the original Reddit user wrote. “And now he’s going on a long rant about how the money isn’t the issue because it’s going to be far more expensive to live in Flagstaff… The only thing I can think of is a genuine psychological issue that Kody has with staying in one place for too long.”

Here’s a thought. Maybe Kody likes to create chaos among his wives. In the last season I think it backs fire on him when at least two of them won’t allow him to control them.
