Lacey Chabert Completes Filming Hallmark Movie In Hawaii
Lacey Chabert just completed filming a new Hallmark movie. This one takes place in Hawaii. What movie was she filming and who was her co-star? Does her social media reveal any information?

Lacey Chabert Completes Filming Hallmark Movie In Oahu
On Monday, Lacey Chabert shared on Instagram Stories that she just completed filming her new movie on Oahu, for Hallmark. She shared a selfie of herself, with her hair pulled back, with a lei around her neck, smiling, and holding a paper cup. She wrote that her movie just wrapped.
And that’s a wrap! I can’t wait to share more about this special experiences, but for now, I’m gonna go enjoy my glass of champagne out of my paper cup. Congrats to our wonderful crew!
For just over three weeks, Lacey shared photos from Honolulu, where she shot her new movie. However, she did not share any information on that movie. That includes the name of the movie or her co-star.
However, thanks to social media, we can safely answer a few of those questions.
What Movie Was Christmas Waltz Star Filming?
Although Hallmark has not issued an official release, it is likely she just filmed the movie Groundswell. This is based on Food Network star Katie Lee Biegel’s novel that she wrote in 2011 after divorcing legendary singer Billy Joel.
This is a movie about the healing powers of surfing. Some social media photos from the movie filming showed Lacey surfing. She is a very incredible artist, willing to learn ballroom dancing for Christmas Waltz, and now surfing for her new movie!
But this is not the only evidence that Lacey filmed Groundswell.
In addition, although Katie Lee did announce on her own Instagram that Hallmark was developing her novel in early May, Hallmark did not announce this news via Deadline until Lacey was on her way to Hawaii. In the past year, Hallmark has been making official announcements about movies just as they are about to start production. This timing was perfect.
Lastly, On May 31, Katie Lee did share a photo of herself in Waikiki, Hawaii on her Instagram. She was photographed waving her arm, hanging on the side of her trailer. She wrote, “Aloha y’all!!!! First day on set of Groundswell! Could not be more excited! Pinch me moment! @hallmarkchannel @hallmarkmovie.”
Lacey wrote in response, “So happy you’re here!!!!!!”
What Is Groundswell About?
Groundswell will air on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. This is what it is about.
Groundswell follows an Atlanta chef named Emma who, on the heels of a personal and professional setback, travels to Hawaii where she meets a reclusive surf instructor named Ben whose lessons help her to regain her footing.
In addition, Katie Lee will make a cameo appearance in the movie.
Is Sugar Plum Twist Star Ektor Rivera Lacey Chabert’s Co-Star?
One of the best-kept secrets around the Hallmark Honolulu set was Lacey’s co-star. Who was playing surfer Ben? Keeping up with social media helped to possibly identify that Puerto Rican-born Hallmark Hunk Ektor Rivera looks to be her co-star. Ektor is not new to Hallmark. He starred in the 2021 Christmas movie, Sugar Plum Twist.

Although he did not reveal anything about his participation in this Hallmark movie, he did share photos of himself in Hawaii and on the beach.
Hallmark will certainly be sharing more information on this highly anticipated new movie. Moreover, they should be revealing a premiere date as well.
