‘When Calls The Heart’ Co-EP Warns Possible LucaBeth Rough Patch
Although When Calls The Heart has still not officially been renewed for Season 10, one of the bosses of the Hallmark series is already sharing information about the next season.

When Calls The Heart Lovebirds May Go Through Rough Patch
Now that Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) and Lucas (Chris McNally) are engaged, will Hearties get to see a marriage in When Calls The Heart Season 10? Deidre Behar of ET spoke to writer and co-executive producer, Elizabeth Stewart, about the Season 9 finale, and Lucabeth’s engagement.
First, Deidre asked about the upcoming nuptials. She asked if there would be a Hope Valley wedding, or if perhaps the couple will elope? Stewart was a bit cryptic in her reply.
All I can say is that the course of true love never did run smooth!
What does that mean? Sounds like the couple could be going through a rough patch. However, it is always possible that Lucas wants a grand wedding, and perhaps Elizabeth wants something cozier, as this is her second marriage.
Stewart hints that Elizabeth is not the same woman that she was when she married Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing).
Elizabeth is in a different place than she was with Jack. The experiences of widowhood and motherhood have deepened her. I don’t think she needs or even desires to be swept off her feet in quite that once-in-a-lifetime way she was with Jack. Including Little Jack in the proposal is a signal that her top priority now is as a mother.

Relationship Between Lucas & Little Jack Will ‘Evolve’
In When Calls The Heart Season 9, there were many moments between Lucas and Little Jack (Hyland Goodrich). That was intentional. Stewart shared that “We made a conscious effort in season 9 to bring Lucas and Little Jack together. They are definitely ‘Buddies!'”
However, she hinted that in WCTH Season 10, that relationship will alter a bit. “But as Lucas becomes Little Jack’s stepfather, that relationship will obviously evolve.”
Hearties Waiting For Hallmark To Renew When Calls The Heart
There has been a lot of discussion about the future storylines for When Calls The Heart Season 10. We know that there will be a time jump of three months from the Season 9 finale.
That means that Rosemary (Pascale Hutton) will be in her third trimester. It also means that everyone knows that Lucas and Elizabeth are getting married. By the time Hearties return to the Hope Valley world, a lot of things may already be settled.
However, Hallmark has yet to renew the series. Now that it has been several weeks, Hearties are getting nervous. Yet, in the recent regime, it appears that the new way of announcing the return of a series is to announce it about the time they start shooting the new season.
This is what happened with Chesapeake Shores. Chessies waited a long time to hear about the renewal. In addition, if they planned to cancel the series, they would have announced it before the finale episode, as they did with Good Witch.
For the past two seasons, they began filming WCTH in July. This likely is when Hallmark will make the big announcement. Meanwhile, Hearties can enjoy dreaming of Lucabeth’s upcoming wedding.
