What ‘Unexpected’ Star Provoked Fans To Defend Kody Brown?
Season 5 of Unexpected has been a hot mess there is no doubt about that. However, it seems to have taken some of the weight off of Sister Wives star Kody Brown. What has transpired in the teen reality series to make the father of eighteen somewhat of a hero?
An Unexpected Defense?
For many years, fans have had a strong disdain for Kody Brown. It really started when they saw him kissing his fiancee Robyn as his this wife Christine was in labor. Then it just spiraled. His wives were all picking out a wedding dress for his wedding to fourth wife, Robyn. They thought it was a special bonding moment. Then it was revealed that Kody had ultimately helped to decide what dress she would wear. It would have stung much less if he had not had a little smirk on his face and seen it as a joke. More so, the other wives were visibly hurt because he did not care what they wore to their weddings. It got increasingly worse when he went on to favor his fourth wife above the others.
As time went on, his behavior got increasingly volatile. He was combative and rude to his wives, always having it be his way or the highway. Viewers saw this and could not understand how any woman could be married to him. Then, he decided to uproot the family once again (they had moved from Utah to Vegas). This time, it was for Flagstaff so he created the layout for a single-family home like that had in Utah. Yet he did all this behind his wives’ backs. The final straw was his behavior during the pandemic, missing Ysabel’s major surgery, favoring Robyn, and so much more. He was beyond hated until someone else came along and dethroned him.
Defending Kody?
It was hard to believe there would ever come a time when TLC fans would be defending Kody. Enter Unexpected cast member Jason Korpi. His behavior has been so despicable that Kody’s bad deeds paled in comparison. A Reddit thread was started comparing Kody to Jason in a ‘spot the difference’ photo challenge. Some believed they were the same person while others actually stood up for Kody.
- “No way! Say what you want about Kodi, but Jason is an absolutely narcissistic abuser and should probably be in jail.”
- “A sentence I never thought I’d say… Kody isn’t that bad compared to Jason”
- “When who Christine was giving birth, kody was making out with Robyn instead of being present for his wife and child. I think that is as bad as Jason. At least Jason wanted to be present lol”
- “Ok, unpopular opinion here. You can’t play kody like that. Jason is deplorable!”
Looks like Kody might need to thank Jason if he ever gets the chance to meet him in person. They are a part of the TLC family, after all.
