Lauren Bushnell Lane Details Pregnancy Complication
Bachelor alum Lauren Bushnell Lane just announced she is pregnant with her second baby. She and country singer husband Chris Lane are over the moon about their new family member. The baby is due to make his or her arrival in October of this year. Now that the news is out there that she and Chris are welcoming another baby this year, Lauren is opening up about a pregnancy complication she is facing. Keep reading to find out more.
Lauren Bushnell Lane details pregnancy complication
People shared what Lauren had to say about the complication she is facing. Lauren shared with fans that she has recently been diagnosed with marginal cord insertion. Lauren said, “The first 13 weeks-ish [of pregnancy] were way worse this time around. I just feel like I was way sicker, I threw up a lot more often, hence the hospital visit. Thankfully now I am feeling so much better.” She continued, “I was recently diagnosed with something called marginal cord insertion. I was incredibly stressed out when my doctor told me that but I’m trying to stay optimistic.”
What does this mean exactly? Lauren explained it by saying it when the “umbilical cord attaches to the edge of the placenta versus the middle.” Basically, this position of the umbilical cord may not allow all the nutrients to flow to the baby, especially in later pregnancy. The normal position of the umbilical cord in the center of the placenta also allows blood to flow more easily to the baby.
While it sounds scary Lauren says her condition is not super uncommon. She said they will just be monitoring her more closely throughout her pregnancy. She will go get an ultrasound every four weeks to make sure things are still going great. As for now, Lauren said the baby is healthy and measuring what it should be and maybe even a little bigger.
Their little boy Dutton
Chris and Lauren’s first son, Dutton, turned one today. She went to Instagram to share all about his special day. The two share adorable photos of Dutton on their social media. Today she shared a video on Instagram and said, “Happy birthday Dutton Walker!! One short year has brought endless joy to our lives and we are so grateful for you.”
As for her second pregnancy, it was a huge surprise to Lauren and Chris. They knew they wanted two children but maybe not quite so close together.
