Chrisley trial update

Nearly three years since the initial indictment, Chrisley Knows Best stars Todd and Julie Chrisley are finally having their day in court. The couple stands accused of defrauding the federal government.

People details the allegations. The reality stars are in court on  “criminal bank fraud and tax evasion charges.” The outlet further notes that the couple allegedly submitted “falsified documents when applying for rental property and loans.”

The trial began on May 16, 2022, in Atlanta, Georgia. The case went to the jury on Friday, June 3. Todd’s mother, Nanny Faye, was among those testifying during the trial.

Why did the judge scold her?

Judge scolds Nanny Faye; attorney defends her

Beloved Chrisley Knows Best star Nanny Faye isn’t facing any of the legal woes her son is. She was called to the stand to answer questions about documents bearing her name.

For the most part, the grandmother didn’t have much to offer the prosecution. For many questions, she simply answered that she didn’t remember.

At 77-years-old, that’s entirely possible.

However, she did get into a little trouble with the judge. During questioning, she used a term of endearment in her answers. The Honorable Federal Judge Eleanor Ross scolded Nanny Faye at one point, telling her to stop calling the prosecuting attorney “Honey.”

Insider reveals that Assistant US Attorney Annalise Peters spoke up in Nanny Faye’s defense, saying they weren’t bothered by the phrase. But the judge put her foot down, saying, “Not in this courtroom — No.”

It’s that Nanny Faye charm that viewers love so much.

Chrisley Knows Best returns with new episodes

Despite Todd and Julie’s legal troubles, the USA Network is standing by them. The hit show Chrisley Knows Best will return on June 23.

If the teaser trailer is any indication, Nanny Faye is up to her usual antics.

In the short clip, the family matriarch chugs beer and tells Savannah, “I’m not no basic b*tch,” sending her granddaughter into hysterics.

At one point, Todd ‘rescues’ his mother from a party. “Momma, this is a d*mn swinger party,” he says in shock. Nanny Faye isn’t in any hurry to leave, though. “I ain’t going nowhere until I get me something to eat,” she says, plate in hand.

  1. It is amazing that we have trials for the average person but, cannot have a trial on the criminals in our government.

      1. What the Chrisley’s did, affects the average person and family financially, and it’s against the law, the federal government doesn’t fool around, they always make sure they have an abundance of evidence and proof before they charge you. If the Chrisley’s owned up to what they did, the judge would not have given them so much prison time, she would have been a little more lenient.
I loved their show, I watched their show from the first episode, and I always wondered how they became so rich since he never worked while he was on TV, but he spent money like water.
My compassion is for his children (Chloe too), my heart breaks for them, and I wish them love and support, and prayers.

    1. I totally agree, the true violent aggressive criminals are not even prosecuted. A true sad state of addairs. if the chrisleys had donated to the Bidens this would not have happened.

  2. I think the Judge was rude saying that statement to Nanny Faye, since most of them let criminals go and decent people get punished!

  3. I’m sure she meant nothing by it, I also refer to people like this at times with no hidden meaning. It’s just an endearing way of addressing someone, the judge needs to RELAX, and stop being so jealous. God Bless this family sending you positive vibes always!

  4. Todd Chris let has no right to speak about any Christian! We know where our priorities lie. We know we’re to pay our taxes and to be laws abiding citizens. We also know that God created Adam&Eve. NOT Adam&Steve! We know that God will supply ALL our NEEDS not wants! He should be ashamed!

    1. Why do Christians quote what’s convenient to them. The Bible also says about judging people and that’s what you’re doing right here

  5. There is not one thing i find enlightening about Todd Chrisleys mother. I would not believe a word she says and can only imagined she was coached before goiing into court to say, i don’t remember…sounds belivable for an older woman in her 70s right? But dont be fooled this woman on the show benefited greatly in many ways but shes not one i liked. She on the show scripted or true reality, id question but took expensive cars, homes from her son as gifts as he also gave his two children not even out of high school which was all for show…..this old woman cursed on the show regular, even telling her son and grandkids to kiss her……. this to me was not funny but disgusting to see her behavior, also gambling, drinking and going after men and it did appear scripted for she and her sister both often pronounced words incorrectly which showed they were not used to using in everyday conversations even tho everyday common vocabulary. She comes across as low class, hick like, as does her son removing their lavish life style….i feel the entire show was for show and scripted…..not one we will continute watching….Julie seems to come from a better background, higher class, educated parents but were not on the show much compared to Todds mother…..i feel sad for them so see their daughter possibly to to prison as its pretty clear, marrying Todd brought her there. Julie could of had a better life marrying someone else.

    1. They are hicks but you’re a judgemental dick. So there’s that. Their legal transgressions aside I’d much rather hang out with Nanny Faye than a rude, boring, judgemental prick. From what we saw on the show they are from the south and she didn’t cuss her grandkids out. All responses and joking were not vicious or malicious she was just that joking, pranking and loving her family. She is entitled to gamble, drink a little and be interested in men she’s a person. just because she’s older doesn’t mean she’s not a person with things she enjoys, needs and wants. People tend to forget that about their parents and people in general as they age.

      1. Well said, April! Scripted or not, she made herself relatable to a VERY different generation. Who can say that about their relationship with their elderly grandparents?

    2. I was wondering how Julie’s parents were doing, I haven’t seen them since Julie got convicted, they must be going through hell. I think her father was a pastor or something that has to do with the church, they were on the show a few times and they seemed nice, and now at their age, they have to see their daughter going to prison for 7 years. My empathy goes to the children, and their grandparents.

    3. Bless your heart. It really does bring comic relief to see someone criticize another individual’s intelligence based on their vernacular, accent, slang or pronunciation in a diatribe filled with grammatical errors and typos.

    4. Bless yall’s heart, Shelby/Jack. It really does bring comic relief to see someone criticize another individual’s intelligence based on their vernacular, accent, slang or pronunciation in a diatribe filled with grammatical errors and typos.

    5. Good god so opinionated and your misery shows. Funny how you critique an old lady for the mispronunciation of certain words. You really let your character and your own education out ilfor all who read your comment to see. I bet Nanny doesn’t spell the word “though” like you do (tho)!! It seems like you should take a long hard look within yourself before you start judging others or speaking of low class.

  6. A Judge is supposed to be impartial. It’s difficult to be impartial if you “scold” someone. It’s clear Nanny Faye got under the Judge’s skin, which means the Judge isn’t that good of a Judge. Honestly, the Judge should have been kinder.

  7. I hope everything goes well tomorrow 21st November let the judge and Government decide and it needs to be done we need to learn our mistakes. And we all make mistakes. and we need to be happy.

  8. just think how many other people do the same thing that they had done and never been brought to justice for it they just go after the Republicans this is a one-sided justice system. give the court a couple hundred thousand and they’ll drop all charges

  9. Where will Todd get his Botox in prison. The bottom line is both Todd and his wife are guilty. Just do your time and eat some humble pie. Live within your means and teach your children to do so also. My prayers are with the children . Always respect your parents but don’t follow in their footsteps . Know material things are here today, gone tomorrow. Bless you children.❤️❤️🙏🙏

  10. Wish they took a plea deal for the sake of their children! Very upsetting to me! Loved the show! Terrible long prison terms!
    May God help them both🙏

  11. I enjoyed the show! I can’t help but respond to those who said they stoled Monday from tax payers.Do you realize how much money Trump has stolen from tax payers? Do you realize how many times Trump cheated on his taxes? In my opinion if what the Chrisley’s is accused of is all True it still don’t hold a light to what some have done and they do not deserve that much time in prison. There are worse crimes that people do and don’t get that much time.
