Recently, both Deanna and Amy have been outspoken about their famous family, especially amid Josh’s legal troubles. They have been posting on social media about justice being served and about how sad and disgusting his crimes are.

Josh was arrested in the spring of 2021 for both receiving and possessing child pornography.

Then, in December, he was found guilty. Last month, he received a sentence of 151 months (over 12 years) behind bars, plus 20 years of supervised release with some pretty strict rules to follow.

Now, Jim Bob Duggar’s sister Deanna is giving more insight into the family’s secrets.

Jim Bob Duggar’s sister Deanna talks about mental illness.

In an exclusive interview with The SunDeanna Duggar spilled the tea on the family’s history of mental illness. Does she think that Josh’s crimes have something to do with mental illness?

In the interview, Jim Bob Duggar’s sister stated, “I think he’s guilty. I think he should get some help to really find out what is going on. Find out what caused all this and get the psychological help he needs.”

Then, she gave some background, pointing out, “My father had serious mental issues. It could’ve been passed down to Josh. I do not know.”

Of course, there is no way to know for sure whether Josh has a mental illness or whether that explains his disgusting crimes. If it is determined that he does have a mental illness, this may not be revealed publicly.

But Deanna seems to think it’s possible. And she does know who her father was and knows Jim Bob, Josh, and the rest of the family, too. So, her insight may be worth considering.
