LPBW Season 23, Episode 3 Recap: “Battle Ground”

Despite being titled Battle Ground, the bulk of tonight’s episode of Little People, Big World is about this year’s pumpkin season at Roloff Farms. With Zach and Matt’s relationship still strained, Zach and Tori decide to take a beat on pumpkin season. This opened up an opportunity for Chris Marek to toss his hat in the ring as a wagon tour guide. Everyone was shocked Chris would offer. Matt notes the wagon tour guide is one of the hardest positions to fill and most back out after a single attempt.

While having a rocky start, Chris Marek seemingly fit just find in Zach’s shoes and had no trouble being a tour guide. In fact, Caryn Chandler noted Chris’ tours were popular among the guests. Going on one of his last tours of the season, Caryn said it was the best tour she’d ever been on during pumpkin season.

Zach and Tori Roloff did cave and make an appearance during the final weekend of pumpkin season. Matt and Caryn were so happy to see them they dropped everything to give them attention. Lilah Roloff didn’t seem to want much to do with Matt or Caryn. Likewise, Tori’s body language pained a clear picture that she didn’t want to be there. Talking to the cameras later, Tori affirmed that she felt uncomfortable. She didn’t see Roloff Farms as a fun place anymore. And, she had no desire to be there. So, the visit was short-lived before the family packed up the kids and went home.

Moreover, Zach and Tori made a bit of a backhanded comment to Matt and Caryn noting they only dressed the kids up and came out to see Mimi (Amy) in her costume.

Zach and Tori Roloff move to their new house

During tonight’s episode of LPBW, things get real as Zach and Tori Roloff pack up their home and get moved into their new home in Battle Ground. Amy made an effort to come over and see them one last time before they moved. She noted it was “so real” as they had a realtor lockbox on the front door of their home. Zach noted the market was hot right now. And, he didn’t believe they would have trouble selling their old home.

Toward the end of pumpkin season, Amy Roloff and Chris Marek made the trip to see Zach and Tori’s new home. Chris noted it wasn’t a fun drive. And, he wasn’t sure how often they would be making the drive just to visit with them. Chris Marek became even more critical when they arrived. Amy noted he was wearing his relator hat and looking at the home from the perspective of his profession. Chris noted the house didn’t have much curb appeal and wasn’t really in a prime location.

Getting a look inside the home, however, Chris Marek changed his tune a bit. He realized how perfect the floor plan was for Zach and Tori. Amy noted the floor plan was perfect for giving Jackson and Lilah room to run around without having to worry about stairs. The couple, however, did appear to find it a little odd that Lilah’s room was positioned so close to the front door.

Jackson Roloff prepares for surgery

Tori and Zach Roloff update fans and family on Jackson Roloff’s legs during tonight’s episode. As fans that follow the family on social media know, Jackson has already had this surgery and is recovering nicely. Zach Roloff seemingly shocked everyone as he acted surprised to learn Jackson’s legs were so bad that he needed immediate surgery. Zach told his mother he felt like he slept through the past two years of the pandemic. Moreover, he worries he let his son down by not noticing the leg issues earlier.

Tori Roloff shrugged off the surgery during the discussion noting it wasn’t a major surgery and he’d be up and walking the following day.

Amy tells Zach and Tori she isn’t too surprised to learn Jackson needs surgery as it just comes with the territory. She proceeded to reflect on the fact that Zach was in and out of the hospital several times with his own surgical needs.

LPBW spoilers and recap: Matt also visits the new house

At the very end of the episode, Matt Roloff finally makes the journey to see Zach and Tori’s new home. Fans assume this will bleed into next week’s episode as this happened when the credits were rolling. Sadly, Matt Roloff’s experience was rather uncomfortable. Tori Roloff wasn’t too welcoming or chatty with Matt. Likewise, both of the kids were a bit grumpy and not too interested in grandpa. Matt shrugged it off noting they just woke up from a nap. He, however, realized he’ll need to visit more if he doesn’t want to lose his bond with his grandchildren. While it was a brief clip, it did not appear as if Caryn joined him to tour the new home.
