Hallmark mystery fans, nicknamed “Sleuthers,” have seemed to have lost their patience. A year ago, Hallmark Movies & Mysteries aired just under 20 new mysteries.

So far, in 2022, the network has aired three mysteries. In addition, a casting call sheet has hinted that there will be a fourth movie as well. Three of these mysteries are brand new, and the fourth is the final Aurora Teagarden, now that Candace Cameron Bure has defected over to GAC.

Moreover, Sleuthers are leaving comments on our mystery articles asking about the network’s mysteries. Most want a resolution to a few cliffhangers. What did they have to say?

Please be aware that there will be spoilers in the text.

Sleuthers Left Hanging At End Of Cut, Color Murder

Quite a few people watched Ryan McPartlin and Julie Gonzalo in Hallmark Movies & Mysteries Cut, Color, Murder. However, after the murder was neatly wrapped up, something crazy happened.

Ali (Gonzalo) is at her husband Dan’s gravesite. She is saying goodbye to trying to solve his murder. The police had found the culprit, but she always felt that there was something off.

She drops an envelope and a bunch of photos falls out. Ali looks at them, and with each one, she looks more shocked. The audience then sees those photos. It is of Kyle Crawford (McPartlin) meeting her late husband.

Ali sits and thinks about her encounters with Crawford. He seemed to know about this case but told her to drop it. Clearly, he is involved and perhaps is the murderer!

Although Ryan had initially talked about another movie, there has been no word from Hallmark.

One fan wrote, “Come on give us a real ending to Cut, Color, Murder please! Hallmark after watching every movie with my wife and coffee mug that says “real men watch Hallmark with their wives” I know they don’t like to give a complete endings. No look into what they did after the final kiss. Only a very few go beyond that. Only one comes to mind with my favorite lady Jessie Schramm did that!”

Another wrote, “Please Please Pleeeaaassseeeee make a sequel. I have to know how Kyle is involved!”

What Is Happening With Jesse Metcalfe’s Martha’s Vineyard Mysteries

One reader started with Cut, Color, Murder and then transitioned right into Jesse Metcalfe’s signature mystery series.

Why all the Cliff Hangers? Cut, Color, Murder is great. This has the potential to keep the viewers. Why the Cliff Hanger with Martha’s Vineyard? Who shot Jeff in the back? Will Jeff and Zee become a couple? Geesh. Help the Viewers out.

Currently, there is no new word on the series. Jesse Metcalfe has written on social media about how much he loves working for Hallmark. However, he has been in the UK and in Miami, where he moved earlier this year, not filming anything for the feel-good network.

Hallmark has not announced whether they are bringing back Martha’s Vineyard. But, some Sleuthers would like to see it return.

Hallmark’s Mystery 101 Fans Waiting Nearly Year For Cliffhanger Resolution

For nearly a year, Sleuthers have been waiting for Hallmark to make the eighth Mystery 101 movie. Fans are devoted to making videos, sharing social media, and discussing the return of the series.

So, it is of no surprise that there are pages of comments. Here are a few.

Please don’t cancel Mystery 101. Both stars have a wonderful rapport and the mysteries are well worth our time. It would be a travesty to end this series. Hallmark mystery movies have not been consistent over the past few years and Hallmark needs Mystery 101. I hope someone from Hallmark is reading these threads. Thank you.

The last movie had a good ending if there were to be no more. They shouldn’t have shown the teaser preview if it wasn’t already scheduled and “set in stone.” That was a bad decision and hopefully won’t make that same mistake with any other series. Nothing causes the loss of future viewers more than channels choosing to leave cliffhangers unfinished. Hopefully, they get the next in the series scheduled soon.

Please Bring back Mystery 101. If you do not intend to bring this great mystery series back
please inform the many frustrated fans who have been waiting to know the fate of this show.

Why all the frustration? Near the end of the seventh movie, Deadly History, Travis (Kristoffer Polaha) and Amy (Jill Wagner) finally say “I love you.”

Then, the cliffhanger that has tormented Sleuthers. They do a time jump and Travis goes to a murder scene. There, he finds out that Amy’s fiancé has been murdered! Her fiancé? Didn’t they just get together? What is she doing engaged to someone else, who is now dead?

At the end of 2021, the writer of the popular series, John Christian Plummer went to Deck The Hallmark podcast to talk about the series. He also revealed he had a screenplay ready to go. So, what is the problem?

However, it now seems less and less likely that there will be a new movie. There have been some new developments, although no official news from the network.

Although in April, Jill Wagner did go on Instagram to discuss the mystery series, and she revealed that she has had fans blame her upcoming new series, Lioness, for the lack of filming, she says it is up to the “big boys” at Hallmark that has said nothing.

Yet, she did not mention anything about working for GAC Family. Last Christmas she starred in GAC’s A Christmas Miracle For Daisy. Just after her post, she went on to film a 2022 GAC film with Cameron Mathison called The Christmas Farm.

Although Jill Wagner has not signed any sort of deal with GAC Media, what seems to indicate how involved she is working with Hallmark’s former CEO, Bill Abbott is the recent news that Wagner will be providing content for GAC’s upcoming Great American Community app.

Wagner, along with recent GAC Media signings, Trevor Donovan, Jen Lilley, and Danica McKellar will be providing seasonal and lifestyle content.

That new piece of information does not seem to indicate that Jill Wagner will be making any new movies with Hallmark anytime soon.

Sleuthers, are you frustrated by the cliffhangers? What do you want to see Hallmark do?

  1. I watch Hallmark movies and mysteries because I enjoy mysteries ! The romance movies all have basically the same story just different actors ! Christmas movies are nice but to show them for 2 months and nothing else is just a little too much !
One has to wonder why so many of Hallmarks Popular actors are leaving ?

  2. It appears that Hallmark is not interested in making their customers Happy ! It has been over a year since the cliffhangers for Mystery 101, and Martha’s Vineyard have aired !
So whats the story ? Being courteous and considerate to your customers. Is a nice thing
