A Britain’s Got Talent child star is excited to come out as trans. The former contestant revealed that he’s transgender and shared his new name. He was formerly known as Gabz and is now Ashley Gray. The singer first tried out for the popular talent competition in 2013 when he was just 14 years old.

This led to the success of his debut single “Lighters (The One),” which rose to Number 6 on the UK Singles Chart. However, he has something else to share that has nothing to do with his musical career. He revealed to his fans his true identity.

Ashley Gray comes out on TikTok

In a touching TikTok video, the Britain’s Got Talent alum came out as trans. He told his followers that he couldn’t wait to share who he really is. The singer explained his journey and when he began to transition.

“Basically, I have some exciting news,'” Ashley said. “So, if you don’t know, I’m trans and I’ve been waiting on the gender clinic waiting list for the NHS for quite a while so I decided to go private.”

He admitted that he just “cried the whole time.” Thankfully, the appointment went well. That means Ash is allowed to legally change his name and gender on his passport. This is a monumental moment for the aspirational singer. He’s finally at peace with himself since coming out to the world.

Ash received a lot of support from his followers and Britain’s Got Talent fans. One wrote, “I’m so proud of youuu!!!! You can see how much this means to you.” Another noted, “Ahhh stop I’m so happy for you.”

This is a huge thing to see in the music industry. It’s also important for Ash’s own fans and followers, who look up to him. It gives them permission and inspiration to go out into the world and be themselves.

Britain’s Got Talent Season 15 premieres

Britain’s Got Talent Season 15 just returned on Saturday, May 28. The latest auditions took place before the live semi-finals. During the latest episode, the Attraction Juniors hit the stage and made an impact on judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden, and David Williams.

One particular contestant who stuck out was Mischa Palor from Birmingham. She wowed the judges with her adorable rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” The live semi-finals will air from Monday, May 30 until Friday, June 8. All episodes are live at 8 p.m. UK time on ITV.

Britain’s Got Talent fans were hit with a huge dose of nostalgia. The popular childhood entertainers the Teletubbies took to the stage on Saturday night. They stood on stage in front of the judges. The Teletubbies made an appearance as part of their 25th anniversary. While most fans loved it, others were sick of the kid-themed talent show.

  • “Never been happier to see The Teletubbies. #BGT.”
  • “Teletubbies on @BGT has made my life.”
  • “Is this Britain’s Got Talent or Children Have Talent?”
  • “Please not another children’s special evening.”
