Earlier this month, Becca Kufrin and Thomas Jacobs jetted off to Hawaii for a romantic getaway. However, their vacation was marred by Jacobs’ unexpected injury. What happened?
According to the former Bachelorette, he got hurt during a scuba diving session. How? She shared on social media that he got a “viral lung infection from a dirty snorkel.”
The news came on an Instagram post of highlights from their trip. The couple had a great time until he fell ill.

Becca Kufrin took to her social media again on Sunday, May 29, to share some happier news with her followers. She is engaged to Thomas Jacobs!
Fans have been waiting for an engagement since Becca and Thomas reconnected after Bachelor In Paradise. In the Season 7 finale, Kufrin ended their relationship, unsure of what their future would look like.
However, she quickly realized her mistake and they reunited after leaving Mexico. They’ve been together ever since.
They were present when Tia Booth got engaged during the Bachelor Live On Tour. As a result, Thomas Jacobs was flooded with questions about when he would propose to Becca Kufrin.
He revealed that Kufrin didn’t want a public proposal due to her previous televised engagements.
She got engaged to Arie Luyendyk Jr. during The Bachelor but he broke up with her to pursue a relationship with Lauren Burnham.
Becca was then the lead on The Bachelorette, but ended her engagement to Garrett Yrigoyen after two years.
Turns out Thomas Jacobs never got a chance to propose! According to her Instagram post, she popped the question first. “HE SAID YES!” she wrote on the sweet announcement.
It seems the engagement happened a while ago but they’ve been keeping it on the down low. “We’ve been keeping this secret just between us and close family & friends for a while but we’re so excited to shout it from the rooftops!,” her post said.
He also shared the news on his own Instagram.
