Very few people may believe that the late, great Ray Liotta was only one degree from a Hallmark movie. However, a couple of Hallmark stars and an alum shared very personal stories about working with the Goodfellas star.

Here are some special recollections that will make you wish he did actually star in one of the network’s frothy, romantic movies for even more wonderful recollections.

Hallmark’s Natalie Hall Shares Advice Ray Liotta Gave Her

Hallmark’s Road Trip Romance star Natalie Hall eulogized Ray Liotta with an observation and a story on Instagram.

Describing Liotta as “one of the good ones,” The Fit for A Prince star first shared what it was like being in the presence of such a professional.

Ray Liotta. One of the good ones: When I walk onto “the shades of the blue” set I was nervous: My first day of shooting and first scene on set was with Ray- acting opposite a true legend known for his tough guy image but emotional complexity. When he came onto the set he didn’t speak much at first. He just was looking at lines, looking at the scene, taking in the space.
Then we started to work. It was one of my most favorite days on set sitting opposite him, watching him.

Next, Natalie shared a pivotal moment where she struggled on set. Describing him as a “father figure,” he was there to support her through her acting struggle Moreover, Ray Liotta gave her advice she will never forget.

Here is the thing: in all Mr liotta’s years and iconic roles/movies he still cared- deeply- he cared about the crew about the actors he cared about the story.
One day on set I had a scene where I was pleading for my life… I started hyperventilating/crying as the character so much that I couldn’t get out my lines fully. Someone came up to me and told me I should “fake it” in order to get the scene done so we could go home.

After that I felt defeated. We still had more takes to do but I felt like I was letting everyone down.

Ray took one look at me-he knew what I was feeling, he knew I cared …
he came over to me in between takes and said “don’t listen to them, keep doing what your doing Natalie….don’t be F*******fake- ”. Truth is every time I acted with Ray I was scared of him because HE was real HE gave you everything he had. He was one of the good ones- kind, generous and supportive. Every take after that I would look to his eyes and Ray without saying anything would give me his encouragement and support. I felt like he was a father figure making sure I was ok. He wanted me to know that he had my back.
I only did a few episodes on this series but he had a profound impact on me as a young actor. RIP Mr Liotta.

Lastly, Natalie Hall revealed that Ray “had a profound impact” on her, as a young actor. That sort of mentorship is gold. He taught her to stay “real.”

Hallmark Alum Trevor Donovan Shares Tribute To Ray Liotta

On Twitter, Hallmark alum Trevor Donovan remembered Ray Liotta. “RIP to the legend Ray Liotta. It was an honor to work with him for 6 months filming Texas Rising in Mexico. He was one of the good ones. Condolences to his family.”

Welcome To Mama’s Star Lorraine Bracco Eulogizes Ray Liotta

Lastly, while Hallmark fans have recently delighted in seeing Lorraine Bracco in the charming movie Welcome To Mama’s, no one can forget that she was known for Goodfellas, along with Ray Liotta.

On Twitter, Lorraine Bracco wrote, “I am utterly shattered to hear this terrible news about my Ray. I can be anywhere in the world & people will come up & tell me their favorite movie is Goodfellas. Then they always ask what was the best part of making that movie. My response has always been the same…Ray Liotta.”
